Unsubstantiated and bogus claims.  check out the replies to this on the same site.   Not likely a real MD, and there was no Washington HHS meeting outlining procedures as the caller states.   Everything you read on the Internet isn't true, but it is a fantastic vehicle for hysteria & propaganda.   I wish people would be more thoughtful about this issue, what we really can't afford to allow Insurance Corporations decide what our national health care policy will be.

And yet you seem OK with some nameless, faceless bureaucrat working for the federal government with total immunity from their decisions to decide on our national health care policy?!?!? Now that is nuts. At least with an insurance company you can take them to court. It happens all the time and they lose all the time. And yes, sometimes they also win. And you may also have the option to get your insurance elsewhere. But at least you have options.......with the federal government in control you have none. You are at their mercy and it isn't pretty. You only have to spend a little time in hospitals along our northern border to see how well socialized medicine is working. They are filled with wealthy Canadians getting the procedure they want without having to wait months or have their request denied by the government. I love all the signs in Canada from U.S. hospitals saying "We accept the Looney so come on down!". The only people that will be totally screwed over with Obamacare are the working poor and middle class.

I don't think WW actually said anything. He just posted a link to a youtube video. Words have meaning and you need to be more precise.

In the majority of states, you cannot sue your health insurance provider in civil court to hold it responsible for treatment decisions. You can only sue in these 17 states: Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and West Virginia. (Source:www.healthinsurancerates.com/33-what-you-dont-know-about-health-insurers.html) So at least in 17 states you can in fact sue your carrier for their coverage decisions. And guess what, my carrier is based in Georgia so we can sue them if we want. Funny how your source didn't tell the whole story....why is that? If you have any type of problem with your health insurance company or their practices, you can take your complaint to an external review board in most states. The only states without an external grieving practice are Idaho, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. (Source:www.healthinsurancerates.com/33-what-you-dont-know-about-health-insurers.html) So in all but five states in the country you in fact have the ability to use some form dispute process (either litigation or appeal to a board) that is separate and distinct from the carrier itself. So if this is important to you then move! In addition, you always have the option to change carriers if you are unhappy. We do this every year with our program when we take it to the markets to test our premium, coverages and level of service. Now lets compare that to a federal government board that would be making these decisions. Who are you going to go to then GF?!?!? You can't move to another state to get this right if you want it. Heck, you can't even sue the federal government without their permission. And if you think they are going to grant that right to you when Grandma dies because she had to wait 6 months for an MRI that would have discovered that aneurism I have some ocean front property in Arizona that you will just love. I mean, for crying out loud give this some real critical thought....

Since the video is untrue, so is the title of the post. "What we can look forward to with Obama Care". There is no proof that end of life decisions will be made under Obamacare. Medicare is a health insurance program for seniors program which is government run. While I agree there are financial issues, the coverage has improved the quality of life for those over 65. I assume you would have been against Medicare for the same reasons you are so afraid of Obamacare. Yet, you are willing to vote for Romney the father of Romneycare with its individual mandates and fines for not being insured. In Mass, if you can afford private health which meets the minimum coverage and fail to do so you are subject to a penalty. Yes, you are fined under Romneycare.

Well the money quote that I love is "There is no proof that end of life decisions will be made under Obamacare". Uh huh.....I know....our big government liberals are going to much nicer than their big government liberals...... GF, check out the number one fear of seniors in many European countries. It is going to the hospital. Why? Because of their fear they will be euthanized and they have that fear for good reason. You know as well as I do that there are soft end of life decisions (i.e., you are old and that chemotherapy is soooo expensive....be a good girl Grandma and go home to die) and hard decisions (sorry, no triple bypass for you because you are so old and surgery is sooo expensive so die here in the hospital). The soft end of life decisions are being made every day in countries with socialized medicine and you know it. Why you think somehow it will be different here when the budget soars from health care costs is beyond me. Yeah, Medicare is great except for the minor fact that it is bankrupt. And you call that financial issues?!?!? That's like totaling your car and saying, "Hmm, looks like I have transportation issues". Honestly, it is so hard for me to take the liberal approach of "we had good intentions" while ignoring the cold hard reality. And yes I would have opposed Medicare for the very same reasons I oppose Obamacare (along with some real constitutional concerns). Because I know the financial reality of government programs like these, no matter how well intentioned, and I know what government intervention into any market does, which is chaos. I'm glad you brought up Romneycare. Romneycare was a huge mistake and is a perfect example of what happens when a program like this is created. And you want that on a national level?!?!? How crazy is that? As for Romney, I will tell you that I am for any GOP candidate that is running against the Messiah. All their flaws multiplied by ten and they will still be 100 times better than Oblamer. I take Romney at his word that on his first day in office he will provide exemptions to every single state from Obamacare. And he has stated that if a bill is sent to his desk that repeals Obamacare he will sign it. He may not be the guy I vote for in the primary in this cycle but if he is the nominee I will support him fully and without reservation.

What is driving the changes in medical care is money, and money will be the focus of the political solution, not morality.
