We got a letter from Aliant bank today inviting us to the auction for this property. I really hate to see this go up for bank auction since the prices will be affecting our property values since we are right before it. Did anyone else get a letter?

got letters. they must be sending them to all account holders. As far as I can tell through my research, the auction is not absolute so it will be interesting to see if they sell at all.

here's a link to a blog post I did on the subject, I have contacted the auction company. Right now they say it's going to be NOT absolute, meaning the bank will have a reserve price on lots and homes. They also didn't have any details on how the auction would be done (bidding on specific parcels, or bidding at a dollar amount and then you choose a parcel). But they should be releasing more info soon, so I have asked to be updated by the auction company when that happens.

Thanks John. I had forgotten I had posted here. We rode up to our place yesterday and looked at what is being auctioned. Please let us know when you find out.
