Are there any active kayak clubs on LM?  Thinking about adding a couple touring kayaks to my marina for extensive fitness paddling on LM.  Does anyone presently kayak the lake?

Yamaha makes it, 180 HP and enough storage for a case of iced down beverages, a bag of chips and a camera.

I know an old man on the west side of the lake that will paddle circles around you.  Seriously, a couple of us paddle the Tallapoosa between Horseshoe Bend and Jaybird creek every year in  May or June and try to catch the Cahaba Lillies blooming.  It's a beautiful stretch of river, wild azelas, eagle sightings, hard to believe it's central Ala.  If you're interrested in joining us, drop me an email.

George - just wondering - where do you put in and out on the Tallapoosa? That sounds like fun, I have never done it.

I know where Horseshoe Bend is, where is Jaybird Creek?
I am on the West side of the Lake and will be on the lookout for an old man paddling circles around me. :-)
I think LM is an ideal venue for extensive kayaking and will be testing it out this spring.

my wife and I have 17' Sealoution touring kayaks, we kayak Manoy Creek and northeastern lake area, and think LM is great for kayaking.

I'll be in a Current Designs Stratus 18, orange.  Home port is Kowaliga, but I'll be all over the lake this spring and summer.  I'll be looking for other self-propelled craft.  C U soon.
