I have heard that rumor. But, nobody was ever seriously injured at Aqua. People have been injured, and arguably killed because of the fireworks show.
And it will not be cancelled.

That is real sad, I hope they reconsider. The way the stage platform is positioned it should be safe, if they are reffering to what happened at the sugarland concert.

I think there were complaints from the locals - UEM noted an increase in corrosion on his outdrive (got to hate it when that happens), and LNG said that "his 'maters left a salty aftertaste in his mouth" for about a month after the event last year. Both said they thought that an increase in water salinity caused the above problems...

After taste, heck. I think Aquapeelooza caused my whole mater problem. Either that or they did not take to well to McGills suggestion that I feed them Coors Lite.

Now jus wait a minute. Some of you newcomers still have not figured out the salinity effect on the lake due to the 'looza. Most of you live upstream of the natural flow, wait a minute, it is you Natural light drinkers that allow for the backflow to Real Island and Parker creeks. Will have to get Mariah1 and NCII to do tests on the inversion layer to determine the new depth that LNG needs to place his pickup for the irrigation system.

Tell me it ain't so!! I remember all the rumors when Alan Jackson was coming; 100's dead, 1,000's injured, at least 10 boat sinkings. None of that came to fruition, not saying that it can't happen, but........... C'mon Man!!
There is no better venue for Country Music than on the shoreline of Lake Martin.

I just talked with Dave Commander at the Birmingham Boat Show and he confirmed that Russell Marine will NOT host an Aquapalooza this year. I didn't doubt Kizma, but I wanted to confirm these were not just rumors on the forum. They will look at maybe having Aquapalooza in 2013. We can thank Russell Lands for several good years of hosting this event.
Now, who's place are we having the party at?

I guess if it spurred enough sales or brand loyalty they would keep it. But, they convinced me, I bought a (new to me) Sea Ray at the end of last summer and was looking forward to getting a spot this year and NOT WORKING but relaxing. :( Oh well. Thanks to RL and Sea Ray for the past, hopefully it will start back up or have something similar in the future, or maybe get back to its smaller and less expensive roots. As I have said many times here and elsewhere, it was becoming the 4th holiday of the summer. You would be surprised how many people that are totally new to Lake Martin had heard of it, seen the pictures, etc. It was a real help to Lake Martin, IMO.
