OK, this may be one of the most controversial posts I have ever made on this forum, but I actually liked Madonna's half time show. Now maybe the bar was set incredibly low after last year's disastrous Black Eyed Pea's version. But i thought it was really well done and I am no Madonna fan. As for the game, it was actually somewhat enjoyable to watch the Pats lose. I don't know why but I have never liked Brady or Belichick. However, I thought Brady not blaming his receivers for some of the dropped passes was pretty classy. The same could not be said about his wife. The Giants did exactly what Pittsburgh did to the receivers when they beat the Pats early in the year, jam them at the line of scrimmage. It really seems to disrupt their routes and ability to catch the ball. And it was nice that the game was over by 10pm so I could watch the whole thing and not be sleep deprived the next day.

Best half time show I can ever remember.  I can't believe that woman is 53 ... actually closer to 54.

I did miss the finger flipping by the one artist. Other than that it seemed to me a pretty good show.

I liked it too. I thought it was really good for a half-time show. And I totally missed the bird flip... but then, other than Madonna, I don't know who those people are. Madonna looks fantastic. She seemed to be having a hard time moving around and I don't know if it was the height of her heels or those thigh high boots. At one point, she seemed to lose her balance.

When Boston was running out of time, they ran time off the clock to throw a long incomplete pass. The Giants were called for 12 men on the field. The penalty was 5 yards from the llne of scrimmage but the the time run off was gone. That was a brilliant play by the Giants. By having an extra defensive back it was tough to complete the long pass. So, it was a 5 yard completion that took valuable time off the clock. I am surprised more teams don't do the same with 12 men at the end to use up the clock on defense with time running out trying to protect a lead.

You think that was intentional? I had not considered that possibility but you are right, if done on purpose it was a clever move. Not that you could ever get them to admit it although why would that be any different than taking a delay of game in order to run out more clock and get a better angle for a field goal. I suppose maybe the difference would be that it negates a play.

I guess the big difference is that the defense had an extra man on the field to make it more difficult for the offense to complete a pass and running down the clock in exchange for 5 yard penalty. This was a brilliant if on purpose. Prevent a long pass and run the clock. I have seen taking the delay to move the ball for a better angle. I would suggest the NFL toughen the penalty for 12 men within the last 2 minutes. Add the time back on would help. Cheers.

I agree that they need to change that penalty to at least add back the time, if not make it a 10 yard penalty. Either way, I liked the outcome for some reason. If the Steelers aren't there I am usually going to be for the NFC team, especially if they are playing the Pats or the Ravens.

Of the 1000s who have read my post, you are the only one to question "Boston". Boston referred to the New England Patriots. You are either the most perceptive reader on the Forum or the only idiot. I will assume it is the most perceptive.

I don't know if I am the most perceptive ... I respect most everyone that posts here.   But there can only be one idiot and you have worn that badge of honor for a long long time.   And you keep proving it over and over to be sure no one takes the spot away from you.   Way to go ... you should be proud.

nope ... i am up at 5:15a every day .... producers have to get an early start ... that is why we want to hold on to what we earn rather than give to lazy people like you.   We did not get to where we are sleeping until 7a.

Since you, Barnie, and MM are working so hard and paying taxes, why should I worry about rising with the roosters? My entitlements don't require early to bed and early to rise. Just keep working, paying your taxes, and keep the entitlements coming.

thats the plan ... it is not about the money but rather doing something worthwhile with your life that contributes to society, rather than being a leech.   But you do what is right for you.
