As I was raking leaves this morning, I saw an adult Bald Eagle overhead. I spotted in the Tallassee slough area of the lake. I had not seen one since Ivan came through. Does anybody know where their nest are?

They had one last year on the big Island infront of Grave Yard Island. They move aoround due to the destruction the Eaglets do to the Nesting Tree.
I have seen more Eagles this past Year than I have since moving here in 2006. I hope the population continues to grow.

Couple of summers ago I had a striper guide trip with 2 couples on my boat, and the stripes were in the area where Blue Creek runs into the river channel. We were trolling and caught several fish, and trolled about 200 yds off Hawaii Island when we spotted a squirrel swimming (poorly) in the lake. We decided to rescue it, but about that time another stripe hit. We got the fish in , pulled up baits, and headed back to the squirrel. We netted the squirrel, who was tuckered out, and hauled it over to Hawaii Island where we released his soggy self. Never before saw a squirrel take out swimming across a lake, so figured a raptor snagged it and then lost control of its prey. If you stay on the water long enough you see some weird things.
