But what a bunch of BS. The problem of the GOP is that there are serious issues within the party -- the extreme right is at odds with the moderates, and therefore, they have a field of weak candidates none of whom can get a strong backing within their own party or with conservative voters. It's so bad, they are talking (praying?) that yet another candidate will come forward during the convention and save the party.
"Save the Republic"? Give me a break. I hate this kind of melodramatic reporting. It just takes away from addressing the real problems of the country.

I think it will be an interesting summer. One thing that's highly possible is- after being reminded every time they buy gas- of the pipeline fiasco, a lot of Democrats and independents could be fed up by the election. Could be a clean sweep a la Jimmah Cartah.
I fear the administration will will get a war started in the nick of time to have something to blame the gas prices on. Any bunch of folks that will essentially rob pensions of GM preferred stock and bonds and give it to the unions in the form of common stock will do anything.

You are joking, right? I'm curious what it is that you think the Administration should be doing RIGHT NOW to lower gas prices. Don't tell me drilling or pipeline, because the benefits of that would be years off.
A war will do nothing but create a bigger mess in the Middle East, and I think Americans are pretty fed up with the Middle East right now. Today's incident in Afghanistan will only prompt more calls to speed up the withdrawl, because I suspect it is going to be a very violent week in Afganistan.

I don't think the Adminstration will have to do anything to win the election. The Republican field is that bad. Unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat at the convention, I don't think you will see a change in the Administration, and the best the GOP will be able to hope for is some additional seats in the House and Senate. Anyone dreaming of a big sweep is just dreaming.

See, in the private sector, there are dreams, and those deemed worthy are wrapped in a plan, with metrics, and the plan is then executed, sometimes unchanged, other times with varying degrees of adjustment, until the dream becomes reality. Getting rid of the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is a worthy dream, with a steady march toward reality. I understand these concepts may be foreign to you, but many more folks than you know, or are willing to admit, you know, the racist, anti woman, anti spending, Limbaugh listening, Beck worshipping, gun toting birthers, truly evil middle America TEA party types, will do everything necessary to assure the oHaul truck shows up at the White House January 19. That is if he isn't impeached for high crimes before then.

Hope, dreams, plans and schemes keep me going through this nightmare known as the sustained obama assault on the US Constitution, with the balance of powers and personal freedoms guaranteed therein. Social engineering, financial engineering, free market restraining, credit downgrading, failure to get a budget through while in office, gun running, voter fraud and intimidation, firing whistle blowers, reparations via Pigford, suing companies with employees that decertify a union, hi speed trains to nowhere, encouraging illegal immigration by refusing to enforce laws related to immigration, anti fossil fuel energy policy that doubled gas prices and resulting food inflation, naked political paybacks via green energy funding, joining foreign governments in suits against US states, all this and much much more from an unpublished, possibly kenyan born guest lecturing community agitator. And you say the GOP candidates have issues? But you can't blame me. In 2008, I didn't vote for the Manchurian candidate, the America hating smacked a z z, who acts like a president, only dumber. I marked my ballot for the old guy and the hottie.
