Ive only heard one person take issue with The President's statement...Newt (the mudpuppy) called it "outrageous". What a jerk!  I hope you aren't trying to join him in his "outrage" over the President's wellstated and deeply felt expressions. Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum also issued excellent and thoughtful comments...only Newt (the mudpuppy) seems committed to making it a partisan issue. Makes me mad, make me ashamed that this nut once was a congressman from my state.

Hob Knob, why don't you just call the boy's mother and tell her you are an angry white male who is pizzed cause Obama used her son's death to make a racist remark. That should make you a better person or at least feel like one. You think maybe Obama made the remark to help a mother whose 14 year old son was murdered cause he was black feel a liittle better? Until you walk in the shoes of the mother you will never know.

Exactly what evidence is there that his death was the result of him being black?

I agree it is a tragedy what happened .... but lets not turn this in to some racist attack.   There is always more to the story.   I don't want to see anyone die, and I am not sure the law is right on this ... but it becomes a fine line to allow people to protect themselves and the rights of potential attackers.

You know, H_Hob, I think you are way over the line here.  This is not a topic for political fodder.
It has nothing to do with the "stand your ground" law either.

Obama wasn't being a racist.  He was being a parent.  He was being a human being.  I think anyone with a heart can understand what he said.  Who amongst us wouldn't say the same thing, if we thought we could bring 2 minutes of peace to the young man's parents.  What we need to hope is that there will be a thorough and honest investigation of this incident and the truth will come out.

From what I am reading, there seems to be some indication that the shooter may have mumbled a racial slur when he was talking to the dispatcher.  And that he told the police dispatcher that he was following a young black male.  While I hope the investigation gets to the truth, at least on the surface right now, it seems like there may be racial overtones.
I think if it was your son, you would at least wonder about it.

As for Obama's remark about the Cambridge police...it was a STUPID unthought-out, off-the-cuff remark and was understandably called "outrageous" by many Republicans.

Obama's remarks about the boy in Florida was a heart felt statement of a father and a human being, it has been called "outrageous" by at least one STUPID Republican who has become a disgrace and embarrassment.

quote or reference some examples that any normal human being who understands the English language will interpret or understand as "race baiting" by Mr Obama.

You may need to define "race-baiting"

aren't you. The only one of these grand total of 3 examples that can be even slightly viewed as having racial overtones is the first because it was about a white police officers actions against a black college professor. Most reasonable people would consider it to be "open mouth and insert foot" stupid rather than racial. In the 2d, he was showing he has the human emotions considered positive in a parent by most people of all political stripes that I know. In the 3d he was stating the truth as he and most observers saw it...Republicans wanted BLACK voters to stay home from the 2010 elections and to a great extent their hope became a fact...do you as a Republican (I assume you are) deny that to be what the GOP wanted then and still wants now? They also want college educated women to stay home and gays and lesbians. The Democrats want WHITe southern men, fundamentalist Baptists and CeO's of Fortune 500 companies to stay home. That is POLITICS, not "race baiting"!
