I can't even walk my dog anymore for all the dogs running loose in the subdivision. Most are friendly some not. Many of the walkers carry big sticks for the unfriendly ones. There are people that get bitten on occasion.

At my end of the street I count 13 dogs loose most of the time. Thankfully a few are kept up  That's for only about 20 houses.

Tallapoosa needs a leash law for subdivisions. A subdivision is not the country. Half acre lots are not a farm. I have heard the weak argument that the county would have to build a pound.

Anyone else have this problem?

I had a cabin in the same subdivision about seven years ago.  Same problem then.  Literally packs of dogs roaming.  It's actually  a people (owner) problem, not a dog problem.

The dogs don't have owners.  Some are born and die and never have an owner.  What can be done?  We should figure out how to get it done.

I guess we need to take a bunch of people to the County Commission meeting and see how our fearless leaders can solve the problem. I really think if we tightened up it would solve the dangerous packing up of strays too. I wonder if all these strays attracts the coyotes we have been seeing lately. I'm surprised some kid hasn't been hurt or worse.

Two or three  years ago, a couple near Athens Georgia was killed by a pack of dogs. She didn't return from a walk, he went looking for her and when he got out of his car to try to help her, he was also killed. I take pepper spray when I walk but I've heard wasp spray is better! Good luck...Did you also know there are bears around? I asked the naturalist at the Crossroads and she confirmed it!

Yep...time for Tallaposa County to step up....taxes continue to rise while level of service (none)
remains the same.  Too many dogs...not enough fire hydrants...

In addition to being revolting, they are edging toward a state or revolt.  I hope while they are at it they also revolt against children and grand children that are running rampant on the roads and in the lake.

Maybe we can get some new laws banning more than one generation being in a lake house at a time.  Some of the most irritating people on the lake due it in four generation mode.   Guess nobody but their own families can stand them.

Also multiple families boating together is a PIA they make more noise waves and have more women with big fatasses

She works for the man who rewrites history, so I wouldn't put too much stock into that statement. Folks who have been here longer than her say there are panthers here too. But there aren't. That little "RL" logo on her shirt should be the first clue that what you hear may be more propaganda than truth.

Have always heard that those whose lives don't warrant much notice or attention crave it even more. Some say they seek it by trying to be glib or relevant. Oh well, just something I heard.

Of course you can still ignore - I had the unfortunate experience of logging in as a guest over the weekend and actually reading a Kizma post.  Will be more careful in the future.

I don't know who you are talking about, but I can assure there is at least one panther in the Manoy Creek area.  I have seen one personally twice. The first time I questioned myself, but the second time removed all doubts from my mind.

There is also a colony of meerkat near Tallassee Slough, and several troops of lemurs in Russell Forest.

How do we ignore. I can't find it. I am sick of Kisma's negativity.

Click on the posters name. It opens up their profile. The profile features the karma rating, and just below, the ignore poster option. I never used it so don't know the impact, if any.

I ask because you seem to know all there is to know based on nothing but your personal experience.  I am 53, intelligent and educated.  I know what a panther looks like, walks like, and runs like.  I can also introduce you several others in the area that have also seen a panther in the area.  If you care to look it up you will find that while on the edge of the range for panthers, we are in fact within the range of panthers, along with other large cat breeds.  Just because you haven't seen one does NOT mean they don't exist in the area.  Obviously you read my post post so you should have known that I even questioned  my own eyes with the first sighting.  But the second sighting was about a week later in better light and for a longer period and removed ANY doubt as to what I had seen.

And BTW- just because an area is not in an animals natural range does not mean one or many could not make a home there.  By your thinking there would be no pythons in south Florida!!

There use to be cougars on the lake.  I haven't seen any lately.

Clicked on his name and based on the results he will soon be by himself.  Negative 56 rating with 11 ignore.  That has to be an inauspicious record for this forum.

I've seen the lemurs with my own eyes too, and my friend swears to have the meerkat trained to eat out of her hand, but interestingly, they are incredibly camera shy! (a lot like the panthers, evidently). Once while digging up an old wagon full of Confederate gold (it had been buried near Castaway Marina to escape capture by the Union troops), 3 drunken fishermen were said to have been approached by a talking dog, who asked for directions to Wind Creek Lounge. They say on a full moon, the dog still wanders in the Windermere area, searching for the bar, calling out "Where is Wind Creek......Wheeeerrrrrrreeeee is Wind Creek???" I don't doubt the story of the talking dog, or the panthers. And I have seen the lemurs with my own eyes (they are so cute!). I commented only to point out the creation of history, and the embellishing of fact, by the organization the "naturist" works for. She will do the same, if she knows whats good for her. And we will soak it up like good subjects, or suffer the Wrath of Arrogance. You know they moved 63 because they discovered the burial grounds of Tecumseh and Jimmy Hoffa under the old curve, right? Rumor is Tecumseh was clutching a 40 year Russell Lands service pin in his right hand, and Hoffa's left hand had been sewn over his mouth (the Hoffa's rented a cabin in Ware's Slough back in the 30s). True story.

I put Kizma on ignore some time ago and have never looked back. It is kind of funny though that I can always tell when he posts. There are a bunch of complaints and negative reactions but I never see the offending post. Ignorance is bliss.......

Perhaps not, but there is no doubt Freddie would die for the chance to hold the KR's.
