I knew this was coming but so far will not effect me having fun this summer.... Low water makes me forget all about the high gas prices Lake Conditions Message Effective - 4/30/2012 Due to extremely dry conditions, Logan Martin Lake level will not reach its normal summer pool level. Efforts with state and federal agencies are underway to conserve where possible in order to help minimize potential impacts as we move into the drier seasons ahead. Special Operations Message Effective - 4/30/2012 Extremely dry conditions have strengthened across many parts of Alabama and are having a significant impact on Alabama Power reservoirs. As a result, certain Alabama Power storage lakes on the Coosa and Tallapoosa rivers will not reach their normal summer pool levels. People with boats and other water-related equipment and facilities should be alert to conditions on and below Alabama Power reservoirs, and take the necessary steps to protect their property.

The weather forecast calls for 60% chance of rain next week but that could change, I can get my Sea Doo to the pier now but not my boat, if I had a toon it would probably make it, I can get to about 10 feet of it where the bottom drops off. I have a party Saturday so I think I will go to Sam's and the the large inflatable they have and you can crawl across it to my boat, ha, gotta do what you gotta do.There were alot more boats out this past weekend, treasure island was surrounded by boats around 3 Sunday.

By the way did you see where they will not allow people to jump off the rock anymore, the owners of the property have advised the police it is no trespassing on private property

I'm hearing rumor, and supposedly, it's all over the internet, that the water is not coming up till late June. Is there another Logan Martin site I'm don't know of? Has anybody else heard this?

TWC - APCO has set us up to not even have to get it to full..... I imagine if this chance of showers produces a decent amount of rain next week APCO will still remmove the plug to keep the levels at a deficit compared to where it should be.. BAMA - here you go >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Just to let everyone know that the area commonly known as "the Rock" can no longer be used as as area to climb and jump off of. The owners of the property notified law enforcement of this change and we are trying to get the word out. The Daily Home newspaper will also be providing everyone a public notice of this change. This area, which is in the bend of the river, on the Talladega side, just south of Hwy. 34, can still be used to congregate by boat and enjoy yourself, but participants are not allowed on the property itself. Thanks for your continuing support of the Dock Watch Program and we hope you have a safe and enjoyable week. I've floated the idea of a petition to LMLPA President Mike Riley, and he seemed fine with the idea. The squeaky wheel gets oil, folks. As long as we're silent on the issue, APCO will continue to use us as the systemwide buffer. The mission of LMLPA clearly states "QUANTITY, Quality, and SAFETY". I see low lake levels as impacting two out of those three goals. So here's my question: If I'm able to sanction a petition from LMLPA, can you all on here help me mobilize to get the lake community to sign on? A few hundred voices in unison couldn't hurt our cause. One thing you can do NOW is hit APCO's Facebook Page and let your voice be heard. https://www.facebook.com/AlabamaPower. Maybe something simple like "PLEASE RAISE LOGAN MARTIN", repeated often enough, will get their attention. -E

Hello Gents, New Here but I couldn’t agree more with the discussion. I purchased my retirement home on Logan Martin last year and absolutely love it. The people and the lake make for an amazing place. However, APCO seems to think otherwise as they prioritize water to the other lakes below and above us. Therefore I’m all in on getting their attention. I think it was a great Idea on using Facebook as a social media mechanism to communicate directly with APCO. As recommended I’ve posted my thoughts there and I suggest others do the same. As for supporting a petition, I’m in just let me know how I can help. All the best! Pop-R

Do we just move to another lake, like Smith Lake?  Was going to buy property on Logan martin, That will not happen.

Be careful what you look for....... When droughts happen on Smith and Lake Martin they go 20+ below full........ Speaking of cabin cruisers..... this past weekend I noticed and unusual amount of cruisers on the water..... Maybe 10 or more each day.... Good luck on whichever lake you choose.....each has its own set of problems - you just pay more for it on the other lakes.

And this is caused by the mis-management of spring rainfalls. Sure seems like it to me.
