Anyone else having problems with the HD service from Charter?  Sometimes the "freezing" is so bad, we cannot watch HD and have to go back to regular stations.  We have complained and all they say is that they are changing the equipment in the central office - but nothing happens!!  Expensive to change carriers because we are in the middle of a two year contract.  How can we get some action from Charter??

Me too but not in the last day or two. Call the county or state and see who licenses them.

we have the same problem.  we were calling them out to the cabin monthly for awhile.  it's always a different person, in their personal truck, not a thing on them or the truck that says Charter, and it was always "you need a booster" "you need a signal amplifier" "this amplifiier is causing feedback, why do you have it?"  ......um, you sold it to me last month stating it was my problem.

they have no clue what they are doing.  we have a cable card in 1 tv.  they were having a hard time getting it to work, after sending 3 different people out, one guy (none of them smart enough to call a tech) said you need to have the cable wire in the "AIR" port..... now lets all think about what  his options were on the back of my tv..... AIR, CABLE/SATELLITE, ANALOG  .....i politely told him he was the cable guy, and to leave the card with me, i'll sign your paperwork, and get out.... my husband had the tv working with the cable card an hour after he got home.

i tried to watch Desperate Housewives last night and 10 minutes in it started glitching really bad , then froze up.  There were only 2 episodes left ..... like forever!  the FINALE is next weekend.... i was pretty ticked.

this has been going on for years.  don't expect it to change.  they are feeding you a line about working on something in the central office, or maybe it's not a line..... but they've been working on it for years! 

and we have to many trees to go with dish or satellite.... or so my husband says :)

I have Dish at the lake, and Charter at home in Montgomery and am having the same problems you describe except I have the "bundle".  That means that nothing works well at one low price.  The Dish at the lake has it's own set of problems because of the trees.

That is their "stock" answer. It is the same as calling Dominoes Pizza and checking your order. They always tell you the delivery driver just left.

A SAT Dish can mount remote from your roof. Just as long as you can get a shot into the S/SW sky about maybe 30* above the horizon. Don't know distance limits receiver to dish, but if your trouble is that bad, explore it with Dish. Might work.

we are thinking about it.  wanted all the leaves on the trees before we called anyone out to evaluate our situation.
