Does anyone know if the restaurant at North Lake condos is open? Used to be Frankie's, heard it had changed to Daisy's. Just wondered if they had survived the winter? Usually there's a lot of buzz on the forum about any new restaurant on/near the lake, and I just haven't seen much about this one. Thanks!

Yes it is open..Just don't get in a hurry..LOL...The Dairy Cream has opened a place at wind creek state park also...It is over by the fishing pier and is suposed to be accesible by the water. I haven't been there yet but if it is as good as the ones in alex city and dadeville it should be good.

I have gotta chime in on Daisy,s. My wife and I went by car (never again). The dip going into the proerty is so deep her car bottomed out and almost got stuck so, my mood was not good from the get go... We made the long walk through the main building and to the restaraunt. It was busy so I exspected a wait time. Took 45 minutes to get food ( I was ok with that) We ordered Catfish Fillet each. What we got were Catfish Nuggets that came out of a bag. The waitress forgot silverware so she went to the bar to get some, grabbed it and stood talking at the bar of 3 minutes while we starred at out food getting cold. (The silverware sis plastic & the plated were cardboard) She brought it over & said can I get you something else. I said yes, Tarter & Cocktail sauce. She brought 1 of each and there may have been 3 teaspoons in each. She said can I get you something else. I said yes more Tarter & Cocktail sauce. When she brought it back I ask for tea refills and she left, 10 minutes went by while she filled everyone else except us so, I walked to the bar with my styrofoam cups and the girl at he bar looked shocked and said could I help you. I said I would like refills and my waitress walking by heard me and said sit down and I will bring it to you. Another 4 or 5 minutes went by and when she brought it my tea glass was less than 3/4 full. We ate and I was saving my talk for when they ask how was our meal and noone ask so, I told my wife I wouldnt be back in there for a long time. On the way out we made the long walk in the dark back up the sidewalk (so dark you could not see who was walking towards you) and leaving I had my wife drive across the grass to avoid the dip in the driveway.

How would you rate your overall dining experience? I had said something to my wife about giving them a spin, but if we do, I guess we will take the SUV, a picnic kit and a cooler of beverages....

Had a similar experience.  Got parked in the corner and waitress forgot/ignored me.  Much more interested in serving a table with people that she knew and could chat with.  Even avoided making eye contact with me.  This was shortly after they opened and I hoped it was just start-up pains.  Doesn't sound like things have changed.

Wow. Very disappointing, but I really appreciate the feedback from everyone. I just can't understand why we can't keep a good restaurant somewhere on the north end of the lake. Thanks!

Sad but too many people with cooking skills have no restaurant management skills. Maybe we should call "Restaurant Impossible"......

Could be that the Alex City 280 corridor has too many choices. Other than La Posada not too many great choices, but a hec of a lot mre and closer than we have in the vicinity of Parker Creek.

But poor service is no excuse with or without other choices.  A well trained wait staff is critical to success and I can't believe so many small restaurant owners can't see that. At a place like this (on the lake), I think most would prefer great service and average food vs the other way around.

Well, we had a chance this weekend to try drop by both Daisy's at the North Lake Condos and Cream at the Creek in Wind Creek State Park. I think the folks that have already posted about Daisy's nailed it. We gave it a try Friday evening. The food was okay - although I thought a bit pricey for plastic plates and paper towel - but the service was really quite bad. The restaurant was not at all crowded, but apparently a couple of call-in orders (placed by folks who arrived for pick up and waited near the bar almost as long as we did) had the kitchen in chaos. Someone from the kitchen came out and apologized to us, but that didn't make the food come any faster. Everyone we talked to on staff there was very friendly, but we had to ask multiple times for most things - sweetener for the tea, dressing for salad, tartar sauce for the fish, etc. - and the wait and wait for it to arrive. I can tolerate some issues, but the food really wasn't good enough to overcome all of that. Then on Sunday we stopped by Cream at the Creek for ice cream. Quite possibly the best chocolate malt I have ever had, but like Daisy's, the place was practically a study in how not to run things. There was a huge line of folks getting sno cones and ice cream, so they were definitely hopping. But their assembly process in the kitchen seemed very haphazard with folks getting their orders in pieces often SEVERAL minutes apart, which doesn't work all that well when kids and frozen confections are involved. And they got our order wrong, but fixed it rather quickly once they finally understood the mistake. So, as nice as it is to have options on the north end of the lake, I'm afraid the fried catfish and fried shrimp from Daisy's just aren't good enough to overcome the service problems. At least not anytime soon. The chocolate malt from Cream at the Creek, however, may just be worth the wait. When I contrast these two experiences with lunch at Sinclair's on Saturday and lunch at Chuck's on Sunday, I just have to ask: Isn't there a restaurant owner on the south end of the lake who's interested in expanding?

We have a place at north lake condos. I really want to see this place survive. I've taken the family twice and both times the service was terrible. The food wasn't bad but I always have to get up and go to the bar and get a round of beers for everyone. Takes 20 minutes to get my check, refills for the kids are non existent. The parking situation is bad as the lower lot is for owners only but nothing is marked and it is confusing if you haven't been there before. I hate to see it close down. But would be hard to recommend to anyone.
