Quick question for locals...my nephew resides on the Lake and has invited my wife and myself down for a week this June.  He would like me to take him varmint (Ground Hog, Coyote, etc) hunting during the visit.  Are there public lands available for this purpose?  Any special rules about which to be aware?  Any guidance would be appreciated.

There iz some good hunting over around the bluffs.  There are a lot of them snipes in the creeks and ditches after a good rain.

Why don't you go to Colorado and do some real game hunting? Ground hog vs Elk...?

Once you figure out how much to lead them, they are fairly easy to take. Still have not found a good recipe for them yet though.

Good idea - I will spot and run the rangefinder, and let Mrs. Summer send regards from her favorite .308 autoloader... She WILL get some of those extra points. ;-)
