Futures were flat to down before the Walker results last night.   Right after they declared him the winner, the futures turned strongly positive.   Up over 100 right now.

This is the short term rally that was expected ... but watch out if S&P gets to 1300+ again ... the fall could hurt.

But it does show will happen once Romney wins in November ... the market will get confidence again and move to real new highs.   Something they have not done under Oblamer ... we had a recovery rally, but still more than 2,000 dow points off the Bush highs.

Separte topic .... but I certainly hope Romney starts to hammer Oblamer that he has had NEGATIVE job growth under his administration and shut him up about his claims of job creation.   There are less people working today than when he took office.   That is the ONLY measure of job creation.

The real reason stock futures were up had to do with the anticipated policy decision by the European Central Bank. The state is not really that liberal as of the last 4 governors, starting with Tommy Thompson, 3 have been Republicans. I stand by my comment that a large segment of voters simply reject a recall unless there is official misconduct which there was not in this case.

If you would stop for two seconds before sticking your foot in your mouth again ... you would realize that if the blue state of WI loved the unions and felt Walker was so bad for what he did to stand up to the unions and end collective bargaining for state administrative employees ... then he would have been defeated.

But the facts are that people came out to support him because they do agree with what he did, he turned a $3.5 billion deficit in to a surplus and helped create jobs that has brought WI unemployment (in a blue collar state) down to 6% vs the national average of 8.2%.  Lets not forget, when Walker made it "optional" for state workers to join the union, the membership fell to only 28% of state workers ... that means 72% say no value in the union for them to pay dues.

That is why he won ... not because of the BS you are listening to on MSNBC.  And that is why Romney will carry the state and be our next president.   Any bets on that? The polls say Oblamer still is ahead, so if you are so confident he will be reelected, lets make a wager ... anything you would like.

GF, either way the recall would be over. Why someone that loved public sector unions and was unhappy with Walker would go ahead and vote for him anyway because "they were tired of the recall stuff" is a mystery to me and any other logical thinking adult. And why, simply because "they were tired of the recall stuff" they would turn out in large numbers is likewise a mystery. Nope, that theory has no substance whatsoever. The voters rejected the recall and embraced Walker because they actually saw his policies were actually working. Imagine that, you try something that has always worked and it actually works again. The amazing thing is that Wisconsin voters actually could see through the government media lies and understand the truth.

You seem to forget that Walker won in Nov 2010 by a margin of 52%-47% compared to the recall vote of 53%-46% against the same opponent.. Those who voted for him in 2010 continued to support him. I am not suggesting that union memebers switched to Walker.

Barrow a brain from someone so if you are going to post, there is some logic in what you say.  Please ... for the sake of all of us.  At least Archie knew when he had to bow out when he no longer could even try to defend his position.

I so wish Hound would come back (I know Hob does not agree), just so we can have an honest debate on some of these topics ... fish, you are trying to carry the tourch, but you just can't make a case that has any reasonable justification.

You just posted nothing of substance. Why don't you explain why you are having a problem with my post?. Maybe, that would give you some much needed credibility

Which is it? Did they vote for Walker because they approved of what he was doing or because they were not convinced of whatever? Maybe, just maybe he has lost no support in Wisconsin despite all the lies and whining of the union hugs and the tens of millions they spent to try to recall him.......now that's democracy at work.

Biggest gain of the year.  I wonder if archibald and gonerfish will try to deny the connection between voters choosing to keep a pro business governor and its obvious implications for what might happen in November.

When anything good happens it is TOTUS who was the cause. When anything bad happens it is Bush/do-nothing Congress/Europe financial crisis/[fill in the blank with anyone but Oblamer] who is at fault. When you live in a world of fantasy, good feelings, emotion and invincible ignorance you can actually have this warped world view and actually be surprised when rational, logical, intelligent adults take exception. It is truly one of the few joys of being a liberal besides living off the dole (government, mommy/daddy, etc.) so you can spend your days at the library looking at porn and searching the internet for illegal music and other free stuff to download. That is of course when you aren't looking for another excuse not to take a shower........

" library looking at porn " What library do you frequent? All I really care about is that you continue to make your quarterly estimated tax payments so I may continue to receive my entitlements. It's really not that complicated to understand my libtard thinking.

I haven't been in a library in a long time. My impression of libtards are based on what I have read, not just in the media but here on the forum. You keep posting about being one of the many leeches of society and I will definitely not change my view of libtards.

"so you can spend your days at the library looking at porn" "I haven't been in a library in a long time" So you just know that the library stocks porn on its shelves. You sound like Clinton…but I didn't inhale. As an alleged scientist, you need to deal in facts. Why is it that whenever I drive by an adult bookstore, I see Romney For President bumper stickers on most of the BMWs parked in the lot. Now, I don't frequent those bookstores but I just know.

Since I don't frequent adult book stores or take note of cars in the parking when I drive past them I can't comment one way or the other. I would love to see photodocumentation because even living in very conservative Cobb County I see very few Romney bumper stickers as yet. I am surmising that you are making this one up........

Hmmmm....... you don't go to the library to read porn and you don't go to adult bookstores so while I am listening to "illegal" music online and checking out "free stuff" on the internet, you are watching free porn on the same internet. It is all so clear.

Take the simple explanation GF, I don't look at porn on the internet or otherwise nor do I scan the parking lot of adult bookstores counting bumper stickers.....but then again, I suspect you don't do the latter either which explains the likely fabricated Romney bumper sticker story......not that I would know for sure for reasons previously articulated.. As for the "free" porn on the internet, I have heard this in various news stories and thank you for confirming those stories to be true......

... watching political porn.  Nasty and not satisfying at all.  Lots of bad acting too.  He can't even ACT like a leader and can't deliver lines without help.  Not to mention his latest double entendre line about 'going down' delivered today.
