Why with all this rain has the lake level not risen?

They may be waiting until the current rain events complete their cycle and we return to drier weather.  There is plenty of water in the watershed to fill it up in the next few days, and the forecast for later in the week is for much smaller rain chances.

Then again, maybe they won't let it fill.  I often wonder who decides when to run the turbines, and how many to run.  We need to find out that person's beverage of choice and ensure his or her cupboard is never empty!

The level shown today is 489.14. How much higher do you want? The max is 490 and I wonder has it hit that mark in the past few years?

When its a hundred degrees in July, no rain and air conditioners are running non stop I will be glad that they got it as full as possible. Its usually down two feet by early August.

Risen to what?  We are within 6 inches of full now.  This is where the lake stays on moderate wet years like this one. Dry years are much lower.   Deal with it.  It never ceases to amaze me the folks that want to second guess APCO and their experts as to where the lake needs to be.  If you are not happy with water levels here you need to find another lake.  A 'run of the river lake'!  They maintain a more consistent water level.  If you need/want an absolute 490' mark to be happy, get ready for a lifetime of unhappiness.  Thank your lucky stars that you are here with 489.5 and quit worrying and whining about the other six inches.
