MM poped off immediately after the Obamacare ruling about the negative stock market "reaction".  The market recovered and I pointed out his premature comments.  Then WW gives me his "wisdom" lambasting my stupidity for not realizing that the market recovery was because of the positive news from Europe.  Well WW, you are 100% correct (not about my stupidity...about the market recovery)...Wall St. turned around Thursday and surged Friday when it became clear that the emphasis in the European community was shifting away from the austerity program of Germany's Merkel toward the stimulus advocated by France's Hollande.  So WW and MM made big bucks on Friday because Europe is moving toward what "Oblamer" wants to do here!  They would be rolling in it if the GOP was more attuned to what would really give the economy a bounce!!

BTW:  How many of the right wing nuts on this forum who praise "austerity" realize that in Europe every country, including the UK, that has moved to austerity has included across the board tax increases as part of their austerity program?

PS:  Have any of you heard the new rumor going around that Obama is getting ready to embrace the Simpson / Bowles proposals?  The reforms much "touted" by the GOP as being so "good and reasonable" while damning Obama for not supporting "his own" commission.  If he does endorse, I'm sure all of you and your GOP fellow travelers will praise his wisdom and fully support all of Simpson / Bowles including the 3 : 1 spending cut : tax increase formula included in the proposal.

you are wrong about the rally yesterday ... it was europe, but not the reason you said.  But rather germany would has agreed again to save the day ... the one fiscally conservative countries not in debt and does not have all the socialist programs.   They just know they have to short term save the day so they can get out of the euro on their own time frame so there is not a banking collapse.

BTW, you should listen to my market advice.

As for Oblamer "embracing" SB ... all I can say is what took so long.   But I see it as another act of despiration so he can get reelected then really shaft america ... as if he has not done that enough.

You seem to forget that all politicians love taxes, including Republicans; however they have refused o-Bama's effort to continue spending without control and raise taxes until he gets control of the stupid spending. Repubs simply said stop the stupidity then we'll talk about the taxes. Unfortunately the media and some Republicans, they're not all rocket scientists, have forgotten why they'd drained the swamp. Republicans are really failing to communicate their philosophy to the public. Archi, name one successful socialist/communist country in history. Help us out here, just one.

Touche CU________ at least economically!  I also would say that those "Socialist" Scandanavian countries have done quite well. That being said, I don't recommend it here but do know we have to do something to keep us from becoming a corporatist dictatorship with "auctions" replacing "elections"!!!

I think you better go back and check your facts on Europe.

Glad you like Simpson / Bowles with its 3 to 1 spending cut / revenue increase formula. I would keep an eye out for Grover Norquist's hit squad though!

Now, if you think Germany is a conservative (fiscally or otherwise) country you must not know much about Germany with its "socialized" health care, very strong and powerful trade unions, Strict goverment regulations on banks, mortgages and business, paid maternity leave for mothers and FATHERS, 3 times as many paid holidays as the US, Guaranteed paid vacation for all workers, essentially free vocational training, strong federal government investment in alternative energy, highly sudsidized public transportation (arguably the world's best), strong unemployment insurance, a high minimum wage, more social welfare programs than the US, high taxes (income, value added, fuel, property, social welfare) AND a strong government stimulus in place!  Germany is essentially Italy with a protestant work ethic rather than a laid back Mediterranean outlook on life.  The Germans work hard...the Italians live hard!

The left THINKS they are buying votes*, the corporate world and Wall St KNOW the are buying elections and politicians!  If they didn't KNOW what they were getting, they wouldn't be "investing" the money.

*How many north Alabama white redneck welfare, medicaid, food stamp recipients do you know who will NOT be voting straight GOP in November???

i know germany very well.  They are very conservative, hard working people.  Their engineering seems basic, but always works and everything is overbuilt to last.

You have mentioned a couple of good examples where socialism may be working to a limited extent.  Have you considered that the Scandinavian countries and Germany have societies where there are no, or very limited, ethnic blood suckers feeding at the trough.  These countries have very strict immigration policies and they do a very good job of keeping the trash out.  Without the bulging demographics in the US, we too could be a shining star instead of a wallowing pig pen.

The communist know how to take care of the wallowing masses.  How many civilians did Stalin and Mao exterminate to make their societies work?  Wonder if all those democrat pigs at the trough know they'd be the first to go if their beloved communists took over.

Actually what makes China a great economic power is that it allows capitalism to flourish...within its bounds.  It is the socialist bent....actually the dictatorial bent that gives its citizens the ability to prosper based on the quality and quantity of ther work...such a novel concept....

Also, no SS ... which drains us.  As in most asian countries, when people get old, they move in with their children.  It is just how their culture works.

And look at the abuse of SS disability under Oblamer ... people being approved, mostly african americans, has more than doubled.  All so tax payers can pay their way.  It also distort unemployment rate.   Can't find a job under Oblamer ... go collect disability.

WW it is amazing how often show your lack of knowledge.  Where did you get the idea China has no "SS".  They have a communist pensioner system based on the old Soviet model that makes SS look like a wise investment program.

how many times have you been to china or other asian countries?   I have been at least 25 times.  I know their culture well.

I have never been but have studied their system.  WW you may know their culture but you don't know squat about their still central planned economic system or their social welfare policies!
