I talked to some Alabama power folks and they have been to told to cut down rope swings on Alabama power land. Liability reasons. So asked what they planned on doing with Chimney rock? The rope swing in Manoy and Sandy creek have been there for a few yrs. Why now do they remove?

Have no idea how good its been on LM. If you were on a Corps lake you could get hauled into court for swinging on a rope swing on Corp property. I have had neighbors hauled into court for cutting the grass on the corp property between their house and the lake. Count your blessings. Alabama Power is just following their lawyer's instructions.

I ruled out purchasing lake property on corps lakes years ago for those very reasons and many more.

We do have it made. No doubt. It just used to be a little better before so many people got so litigious. AP has to CYA. We always talk about the good old days but...

Sad, that rope swing has been there in one form or another since the 60's.
