No, you didn't answer my question, which is quite clear and unequivocal.  To me, gay marriage is an oxymoron.  Marriage is between a man and a woman.  What is YOUR deinition of marriage?

expect jellyfish to answer a simple direct question.   All he can do is recite the talking points of the left.   He does not have his "own" point of view, he is just a blind follower.

Look below, he can not even say what he feels Oblamer has done to help the middle class.   Should be a simple question, especially for someone like him that is such a strong supporter.

you do realize that is very close to what Dan cathy said ... expect like a real man he said he believes marriage is between a man and a woman and does not agree with gay marriage, but respects an individual rights if the law allows.

What is a matter with the left that a person can not have a point of view different than their extreme view?   Even the leader of black pastors has come out in support of dan cathy.

You and your like are very out of touch and just like scott walker this is now backfiring.

My plan is to go on Friday when all the rump rangers are supposed to go. That's when they need normal people in their store. I did like what happened yesterday because it was a grassroots show of support for freedom of speech. When politicians start picking businesses they want in their city based on the personal beliefs of their leadership we are no better than North Korea, Iran or whatever totalitarian regime you want to pick. I can only imagine the outrage of the left wingnuts if a GOP mayor of a large city told some gay friendly business they had to stay away. Anyone that supports freedom of speech should support Chik Filet but we all know that libtards only believe in freedom of left wing approved speech.....such is the hypocrisy of the left.

Whether it is straight or gay does not matter, why should the Government legislate your relationships (as long as all parties involved are adults). Let them take the marriage penalty hit too.

There is no such thing as “gay” marriage.  Marriage is between one man and one woman.  The whole issue is because the gays want legal and public vindication of their perverse behavior (consider for a moment what they do).

Wherever they want to stick it… I don’t think the taxpayers should have to fund them sticking it to an already burdened system. Should they get their partnering-up legalized, it will further burden the social security system and dilute its future solvency – remember, when you die, your spouse gets either yours or her social security… whichever is higher.  Just as homosexuality is a biological dead end – so should be their social security benefits.

I actually don’t care what they do with each other as long as they keep it out of my sight... and wash their hands before they go to work. They should be free to enter into any contract as long as both understand the terms.

As to how GOD will judge their behavior… the word of GOD tells me that is NOT my business.  And, no true and understanding Christian should be caught damning them… for they do so at their own risk.

I just don’t think what they do should be confused with “marriage.”

I agree completely Maj. This is like calling an orange an apple because you want that to be the case. The definition of marriage is between one man and one woman. They simply want to redefine something to make them feel better about their lifestyle choices. Frankly, it demeans every single married couple to make their marital commitment no different than two people of the same gender that want to engage in perverse relations. But this really does get to the heart of what is wrong with the gay activist agenda. Their entire identity revolves around their sexuality. Heterosexuals do not have this kind of disordered affectation that their entire sense of being revolves around the fact that they are attracted to people of the opposite gender. That is what happens when you, for whatever reason, defy natural law and engage in that kind of self destructive behavior.

Who makes the call where THAT line is drawn - if you believe that your God or gods frown upon certain actions and you wish to remain in his/their good graces, that is your choice. As far as the agenda - I do agree that it should not be the defining characteristic of one's life, but you will find most minority groups will do the same...

This isn't based on any specific religion but on natural law. If you in fact take these kind of relations to their extreme (i.e., its what everyone does) then we cease to exist as a species because two men or two women cannot procreate. When you have a small minority of a species that freely chooses to engage in these kind of relations it is indeed perverse.

I believe that you will find homosexual relations in most animals, so I think that this is not just people doing this for the fun of it, but rather that there is something hard-coded in DNA that "causes" this behavior. With the birth rates we have today, you will NEVER have to worry about too few people being born. Throwing out the "perverse relations" - again where is that line drawn, and by whom? As an aside - I don't understand the gay lifestyle, so I do not participate in it - if you choose to do so - that is YOUR choice.

While you define marriage as between a man and a woman, I define marriage as between two people in those states that allow it. I support gay marriage as no big deal. Kinda like the 1960s and all the battles over integration, then interracial marriage, and gays in the milltary, and gay marriage. Even Dick Cheney has accepted the concept. Do you have an issue with gay marriage or gay lifestyle, or both?

You would not support polygomy if it were legal, and if so, would you support legalizing it? Disclaimer - adults only, and self-supporting.

First question I've already answered.  As to the gay lifestyle, that is their business.  They don't have a right to make it my business.

I ponder at times whether God meant for some boys and girls to do the things they do to others of the same sex, and if He had meant for it to be, maybe he would have equipped human beings differently physically.  But His masterpiece isn't built that way so it is a question that I won't get an answer to in this life and maybe not the next.  Mine is curiosity, theirs is between them and God.  I don't know if it is "wrong" for them, I just know it isn't right for me.

BTW, I was holed up yesterday in a facility so secure I couldn't take my phone OR laptop, and didn't emerge until late.  Like MM, I will go to Chick Fil A sometime in the next few day to show my support for their right to have and express an opinion, even though I don't like their food.

Really strange that the same people who expect others to be so tolerant of them are so intolerant of others with a different opinion.

"Really strange that the same people who expect others to be so tolerant of them are so intolerant of others with a different opinion." We see that with virtually every Off Topic post on the Forum as It seems to be the nature of man in our divisive society.

Read this article from the current issue of Time. Seems like the dude has a cool set up. Could I support it?? Yea! Sure beats trying to solve the problem of single moms with multiple kids from multiple guys and multiple welfare checks and never married. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2120495,00.html

This is probably the worst analogy that anyone could use to support that lifestyle for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, if you examine this kind of behavior in the wild it is always associated with populations under stress and in essence you have animals that are not going to be around for long. It is not common behavior and it is indicative of serious problems, not some natural proclivity. You need to look at studies about people who have same gender attraction issues and you will find a disproportionate percentage of mental illness, abnormal childhoods, etc. Not everyone but a substantially larger percentage than the general population. One only has to see a gay pride parade to recognize people that have issues. Second, to justify any human behavior based on some abnormality in animals lowers us to their level of intellect and reason. There is an entire list of animal behavior that I am quite sure you and I and our gay friends would not find acceptable at any level or in any percentage of human beings. For example, a certain percentage of animals eat their young. I don't think you would be willing to make the argument that it is acceptable for some percentage of humans to eat their young simply because some animals do, would you? I know I would not but that is in essence what you are doing to excuse same gender attraction. I could provide you with a whole list of behaviors much more common in animals that humans would not find acceptable at any level. That is a very bad rationale for excusing this lifestyle choice. The fact is that we have been blessed with the ability to reason beyond even the most intelligent of all animals. That is the image and likeness that we are created to share with God, not how we look. We have a conscience, we have a soul and we operate on the basis of right and wrong...the natural law as opposed to the basic instincts that animals operate under. Its not that we don't have many of those same basic instincts, but that we are called as human beings made in the image and likeness of God to rise above them. Justifying any behavior based on what animals do is the worst of all arguments.
