Bama, if you find someonw and can refer them let me know. I have one (computor that is) but I think it is just too old.

Best bet is to copy needed files onto a memory stick and reload the operating system. This will get rid of all the junk and keep what you need. If the computer is over 3-4 years old, just buy a new one. Having a competent technician come to your house is not cost efficient in most cases.

On what part of the lake are you located? If you're not in an extreme hurry, my in-laws house is in the still water area, so I could take a look at it for you when we're up that way. If not, and I get a free time, I could come up there.

If you reload the OS be sure to completely wipe the disk (by formatting it) before you reload. A lot of junk latches onto the disk in protected areas that are nether erased or written over by an OS reload. If Dell, be sure to use your Dell reload disk because they have a separate4 small partition on the HDD or their reload instructions.
