Really??? Does anyone think posting a sign on your pier have ANY impact??  Boaters know the rules, and while many will be close enough to your pier to read the sign, they will ignore it.  I love to ski and ride the wave runner as much as the next person, but those of you who go back and forth 10 times are more in the SAME FRIGGING Area give these homeowners a break from the waves and share you wake with others on the lake. (preferable in YOUR OWN neighborhood) and stay the proper distance from the piers.....

My sentiments, exactly!  But anything is worth a try. The MP did make some visits to our area for a few days, but haven't seen them lately. LMRA decides what the MP is supposed to do under direction from Russell lands. The campaign (I'm sure) was approved by them first to make it look like something is being done.

I realize this is a somewhat statewide campaign, but you can bet there was consultation.

Here's one thing for sure. If everyone puts up the sign pretty soon no one will notice it or pay attention. If you have a lake house on big water I can pretty much assure you it will be ignored as it should. Big water gives you nice views but comes with lots of waves. If you live in a slough maybe it will help but nothing, no sign, no mad waving of arms or shaking your fist will resolve the issue of inconsiderate boaters. I have a house in Sandy Creek area and do my wakeboarding/wakesurfing in areas where there are no homes and when I am pulling tubes it is in the open water areas where the big waves from other boats make it more fun for the kids. But I try to move around and not stay in the same area for long periods of time. But frankly as soon as I leave one area another boat or two or three move right in and start making waves. That is life on a lake. Water=boats=waves. Always has and always will.

beating your head against a wall will do just about as much good.

signs are a waste of time and money.

nobody cares about your boat or dock but you and the the guy who wants to sell you the next one after the waves and wakes screwup the one you have now.

I've been preaching that same sermon for years on the forum MM.  It falls on deaf ears.  Folks want big water views, then get upset when it comes with big water wakes.  I just snicker and move along...lol.  The even funnier part is that this lake can have 3-4 white cappers in the middle of the week without a boat in sight.

I love my little tucked away slough where I can look out and see the ripples from the ducks when they come to get there evening meal off the deck.  Actually I have video of them in my living room.  One reasonably cool evening we had the French doors open and the ducks come right on in looking to get fed.  All seven babies, but mamma stayed on the deck.  It was cute till one pooped, fortunately in was on the ceramic tile and not the carpet.  Just yesterday I was in the front of the house and thought someone was knocking on the back door.  Went to answer it only to find the ducks looking in and pecking the glass.  My GF has them eating out of her hand now.  Spoiled ducks for sure.
