In your opinion, is the rule "we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or
purposeless inflammatory posts" applied the same to all posters? Or do some seem to be allowed to get away with more than others?

I had actually blocked Kizmu and then found myself wondering what he had written lately. Took me a while to trick the system into allowing me to unblock him but I managed.
I re-read the post below and the “offending” comment was Pet Beaver related. Out of context comment? Probably yes…. Kind of like someone passing gas in church or laughing at a funeral. And probably done by someone you may not invite to your house party I agree. But having read the entire chain I must admit that Kiz was defending himself pretty well. He appears to be well educated, articulate and made some very valid points. Perhaps he is a lawyer in real life?
My real point is that I would rather have the choice to read his writings or not read. I would hate for the webmaster to make that decision for me. Already I have the ability to block him which was a great feature. My suggestion is to tweak the existing karma feature on the forum. My profile could be set to block any member with a “bad karma”. That way new members, kids and clean cut “sensitive” people can set their profile to ignore anyone with an unfavorable rating. The members determine who had bad karma by the current method on the forum. Democracy at it’s finest!

My objection to K's post had less to do with the words used than WHEN they were used. Once again, he made an offensive post showing little regard for the lady he was responding to. I have no problem with humor and innuendo...it's all about TIMING and treating others with respect and dignity. I have since wondered if perhaps this member has some type of handicap or disability...and if that were the case, I would feel badly about my responses. So Kizma, give it up....tell us everything we need to know about you....

... I was banned for life, not one time but many times for much less offensive cr@p than Kizma posts these days. Each ban kept me off the forum for about 5 minutes.
All I did was call an idiot an idiot and call out others on inane and sometimes racist, or in one case a totally self serving guy from trying to hijack the forum for his and his groups' own personal agenda. And in the fullness of time, most of the other regulars came to realize that I was right all along. At one point there was entire cabal of 'regulars' that rallied together to achieve the bans. Now I am the one still here, and those guys are rarely, and in some cases never, heard from here.
The point is, Bruce has given us the ignore feature, use it. His 'banning' anyone is nothing more than an annoyance to those that would choose to abuse the privilege of using the forum. The only real way to achieve a ban is to do it by IP address and Bruce for reasons explained years ago will not use that method. Even that method is only a little more of a fete to overcome to those of us with a modicum of computer literacy, as a new IP can be obtained in a matter of minutes if one knows how.
Kizma is Kizma. He and I have had our differences, but he is a nice guy in reality. I know him personally but will not disclose his identity. That is for him to do, if and when he chooses. Stirring the puddin' is a long held tradition here. Some of us are better at it than others. Some of us overlook it better than others. He enjoys creating controversy, and others enjoy reading it when he does. If you are not one of them, use the ignore feature.
I think one of my favorite quotes is in order here: "Never try to teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time, and annoys the pig".

Since I have met BOTH you and Kizma - saw him a few years back at Cathouse P'ville, and you last year at Cathouse LM, you would have to have gone schizo AND gone to a really bad plastic surgeon and an orthopedist for you to be a newer version of him.. :-)

We all know the phrase about OPINIONS and ANUICES.
What is needed on this forum is opinions that are not governed by sameness or majority.
It needs as many different opinions as can possibly be generated, especially if they are offensive and different.
Just remember, everybody's opinion, just like their anuice is offensive to someone. (even those anuices on hot babes offend the fat ladies)
If everyone had the same opinion then this forum would be boring and eventually there would be few posts. You should be able to see that the most controversial posts draw the biggest response.
If you don't like controversy you should join the Rotary Club or one of it clones, you know them. Then you could go to the meetings sing goofy songs pat each other on the back for your sameness and get your pic in the local paper.
Incidentally, those dudes do good charity work. As far as their economic impact they are made up of mostly local merchants that want to sell products to each other and somehow think that brings money into the economy. They should concentrate on getting mfgs. that produce locally and sell globally. They shun me for having that opinion but that is what will bring money to the local economy, Selling each other STUFF won't
As far as me being handicapped and having disabilities here they are:
DISABILITIES
I am on the wrong side of 40.
I do not draw. (A govt check, an insurance check, a private pay disability check)
HANDICAP
16 from the member tees, hope to one day get it down if I can graduate to the GOLDEN CHAMPIONSHIP (yellow)
tees.
As far as the timing is concerned, I think if you were honest with yourself(BIGFOOT) you would not have gotten upset with the timing if the poster was a male. I gave that some thought (the damsel in distress thing) and checked "lady"'s other postings (to see if memory served me correctly). When I assured myself that she only posted to make complaints, I thought it would be appropriate. You should really quit bringing her into this as I would preferr that it not be about her unless she wants it to be. She should not be you shield for thinking with you little head. Don't get me wrong, I think with my little head if I am seeing something, but fantasizing about a poster with a female alias is a little like calling a porn 888 number. It also will eventually lead to LIFER adopting several female alias just to get some good laughs in on you guys.
Lovecamping, tell me where you live and I will tell you if you are my neighbor. Hint, If my MIni Cooper does not have a green dot on the windshield and a grill badge that says "BEND THE RULES AND RULE THE BENDZ" I am not your neighbor.
Lakeguy, just keep your head in the sand. Don't forget to jump in when others post about me so you can make UNINFORMED remarks. They are easy fodder for me.
Regarding LIFER, he WAS the best thing that ever happend to this forum. ( I really hate to say that) However, I think he has figured out my password and makes offending posts as Kizma, so if you get offended by something I say, it is really LIFER. I hope you know Lifer that I am hereby throwing down the gauntlet. (no personal attacks)
Take note that my complement is PAST TENSE.
My intention in the future is to stay just OUTSIDE of the channel markers, and swerve inside as needed.

Kizma, if your posts are attempts at Howard Stern shock talk then perhaps you are getting somewhere. But that is exactly what we are trying to say. Your Kizma Aunice attitude was refreshing a few years back, always on edge, but refreshing. Now, you have drifted more into "in your face" street talk, and it is not appealing.
The folks on this forum are not robots all thinking the same. We have some clever, interesting, informative folks who add a lot to the conversation. Unfortunately, they used to add a lot more, but that is not just because of you and me.
In this most recent post I have no idea how you come to the criticism and remarks you made about BigFoot. That was a stretch, even for you. I would respectfully appreciate if you would retract those remarks. You are finding your thrills in the wrong place with the wrong ideas these days.

As regards BIGFOOT, he seems to jump into to the fray and participate in the dock, bumper, beaver, ho, stuff. Even more so than I do. I usually don't talk about docks and bumpers and do talk about pet beavers and ho's. why because I think that the pet beaver and Ho thing are funnier. I think the dock an bumper thing is really less than sophomoric, but everybody has to start somewhere. So I just laugh at it.
Since Bigfoot has been an active participant and not one of the up tight posters, I was looking for a reason. He gave it to me when he said it was because the poster was a lady in distress and I took it lightly and made a joke about my neighbor's pet beaver getting stolen.
If Bigfoot states here that he is offended by me stating that he was caught thinking with his little head, then I will apologize. But not until then.
And don't forget just because an alias has lady or girl or woman etc. in in it doesn't mean it isn't LIfer in drag.

I live in Peckerwood, the other end of the lake. I use to come to your bailiwick to use the ski jump and eat bar b que.
No I usually only show up there for Poker Run or showing guests around.
btw where is the ski jump now. we were looking for one to tube the other day.

You brag about your in the face posts, so I will not worry with finding some examples for you. You are way off base with your comments on BigFoot. He could have said person as easily as lady. And the where he is thinking part, again, a stretch, even for you.
I agree that the bumpers, dock etc had played its course. Funny as hexx for awhile. If you can read into some of my New year perdictions, you will see that. I personally do not like the beaver talk. And I am thinking with my personality, my being, my head, my emotion when I say that I regret the loss of posts we have had over the last few years, and I think we have lost several ladies.
Your post about BigFoot did not offend him, he has a thick skin. It was just way off base, and I take exception to it. It was a stretch.

I have seen your place. It is in Sandy Creek, very close to the Hwy 49 bridge. I was back there looking for your place, from what Kizma said, I should have taken that cut to the left. I did see something on the creek that I thought was a semi-truck bra hanging on the clothes line. When I checked it with the binoculars, I saw it was trimmed in lace though, so did not stop.

I forgot, you don't participate in the banter anymore, you are one of the trolls Kizma referred too earlier these days. I mean after all, you have spent 31 straight weeks at YOUR business actually running it. Imagine that! I seem to remember me and the other guy telling you from day one you should be there. But I realized how things were when you tried to put me on a guilt trip with the comment that you "put your life on hold" when I had to have surgery and you had start coming to the lake store to run it. Think about it. You haven't seen or talked to me since that day. Well there was that one day when DeeDee called to ask a question about your business.
I was cut from breast bone to pubic bone, twice in as many weeks, they were even nice enough to sew me back up the first time, but you had to put your life on hold?
That was February, this is August. I am still not healed, thanks for asking. <sarcasm OFF>
And BTW- the $600 quote on my girlfriends 290 SeaRay was done at one of your competitors for just over $250.
