Just some quick FYI...I was approched by the Marine Police wanting to know if I was affiliated with the Helicopter Flying around Saturday taking photo's....I am not....These folks are out of Florida from what I have found out on the Internet.....aperantly there were some complaints from people about this Helicopter....I hope no one let what ever they did ruin their weekend.

Why would people complain about someone trying to do something for them? Its boatpix.com and their aerial shots are awesome! Some folks ain't happy unless their complaining.

Yes, to some degree I do. Everyone I've ever known has liked the idea and pics of a live action overhead shot of their boat and friends aboard. I don't wanna see that not being an option around here because someone is upset.

My mufflers stay on, but my boat wont plane that slow unfortunatly. I havent been on the lake in a month, so maybe you have me confused with someone else.

What's the big deal with fast boats ? I see them at the Rock but rarely going to or from. I did see one Sat. going by Pleasure Point and was very impressed. Not near as loud as a wakeboard boat.

I assume your alias, 250 SEL, identifies your boat as a Sea Ray 250 SEL, which usually is equipped with Captain's Choice cut-outs. If I'm correct, do you usually run with exhaust open or muffled. If open, why?

Thought you had checked out. Anyway, there's a SR250 SEL that runs around my area that I find interesting. He always has the cut outs open and with the placement of the side exhaust placed as far forward as they are it makes the boat sound like the old Merc 470, four cylinder. Sounds kind of like a tractor from the side as the boat goes by. Sounds normal going away, but from the side it sure sounds a lot like a tractor.

What part of the lake and what color boat? Side exhaust can sound odd for sure because most of the time you only hear one side of the motor, giving it a tractor type sound.

where is the conection between fast boats and the helicopter? In your mind ! I saw him taking pictures of families on pontoons enjoying swimmng and tubeing,just hanging out on the water.As for the Look comment. It is a 2 way street on the forum.Again the ones doing the complaining are envious power tripping control freaks that just want to throw darts at someone who is enjoying themself.My first thaughts when I go to the water are never look @ me and if I offend you well I wish I were invisable - but Im not so place your rocker on the front porch at the assisted liveing center.I believe its a posted low speed zone!

My new standard post for complaint post on this forum.it fits most any that I have seen!Ha!because you own a fast,loud boat you are a drunk redneck? Ha, then My guess would be that if you own a pontoon you must be a grey haired retired fart that doesnt want to go fast because you know your time on this earth is almost up! Or maybe that secound hand ragged out p.o.s. is all you can afford on your fixxed s.s. budget! The Marine police do an excellent job of getting drunks off the water - no matter what they drive. So dont think your fooling anyone as you get stoned cruising aroung in your granny's pontoon - they are watching you too

I accidentally flagged your post as inappropriate while trying to view entire thread. Sorry! Using a new charger for my phone that makes the touch screen wig out while plugged in.
I couldn't agree with your post more! It's amazing how some people automatically hate you for driving a brightly colored boat although you obey every regulation. But I observed several generic boats at the rock over the weekend violate rule after rule and nobody seemed to have a problem with them.

What is the problem with the helicopter - people jealous that they did not get to ride? I guess property ownership now extends up to 35,000 ft... The same company was out several years ago taking pictures - from what I remember, the pontoons had their website listed. At this time, this country still allows businesses to operate, and if there were not enough people buying the aerial photos, the bird would NOT be here twice. As much as you would like to think that only the owners of those noisy (big boats were banned remember) colorful boats are keeping that thing flying - there ain't enough of them on the lake. I have been enjoying photography and photographs for all of my life, bought my first SLR when I was in Junior High School and maybe there is a reason some people do not want photos of their "adventures". Be sure to get the tail #'s of any aircraft going across your property so you can bill the carriers for their use...

well, that's from one bandwagon to another. i'll give you that a wakeboard boat makes a much bigger wake than the so called "fast boats", but to say it is louder is just plain silly.
AND we very much enjoyed the boatpix.com helicopter. i took a few pictures of it on Saturday.
for mckaygmc..... it seems unlawful to stop you just because of what is printed on the side of your boat!!!!

I will agree with SEL250 if he is talking about noise in general, and not just exhaust! Some will disagree and maybe find my exhaust note offensive, but my exhaust ain't saying offensive or racist things like some of the music on the lake I hear. I am certain thats what SEL250 is referring to.

i'm not a fan of the big speakers either. i don't care what kinda boat people have, it's what makes the lake 'the lake'. just be safe, and as far as safety goes.... we were out around 8pm Sunday night and we crossed paths with 2 very slow pontton boats neither of which had their proper lights on.

I was just concerned that If the Marine Police might have thought I was with the Helicopter AND they had done somthing wrong weather it be offending someone or doing something unlawfull or dangerous That I wasn't involved....Didn't know this had anything to do with Fast or Slow Boats.....Anyway...I hope every one had a great and safe weekend..

Yeah the four cylinder sound is what I was referring to. You'd think the manufacturer would know better. I guess the boat driver's never heard it from outside his boat before. Boat is black and white.
