A pontoon boat looking kinda like that on Lake Martin once - it was not in motion though, turned out that a woman was mooving up the stern ladder.

Is it just me or does that look a little unstable? I still remember when we went from a 21' pontoon with a 40hp engine to a 26' deck boat with a 285hp I/O. My youngest daughter would freak out every time the boat banked into a turn because according to her boats are not supposed to do that. Of course today she is doing flips on a wakeboard behind our Malibu. How times change.
BTW, she is doing flips but not exactly landing them.......which is way more than I would try.

My first thought when I saw this was, NOT with my fat a$$ on it!! That was the same thought I had when the conversation about 100mph pontoons started. I have had a couple of scary moments on pontoons with normal power topping waves and catching wind at the same time. I ain't going nowhere near one doing 100mph. A nice slow putt-putt is fine with me....lol.

I had just the opposite problem one day back in the 80s. My boss wanted to put down a mooring line for his sailboat at Dixie Sailing Club. Well, he didn't do outboards so he took me along to drive the club's 18 foot toon. So I, my boss, his executive officer and three used 18 wheler trailer brake drums were loaded onto this little pontoon boat and we started out to the area where he was sinking the three drums, connected by a chain to the floating ball. Problem was a squall came up as we were on our way out and water started lapping ove the front of the toon deck. I was driving with the little 20 horse outboard giving it everything it could. I decided to slow down because of the rough water and did so too quickly. Without the torque of that little otboard holding the front of the toon where it was, it dipped, caught water, and we ended up about like that tritoon, but nose down instead of nose up. For a brief moment I wondered if I would skipper the first pontoon submarine in history....lol

That looks like Ulysses toon when he lost his bimini top. Now i know why bennington gave him a hard time on replacing the bimini under warranty.

Yea, I have taken a few over the bow through the years, but nothing like that. I did go submarine enough once to bring the prop out of the water for just a second. That was on an 18ft tooner. It hit so hard it bent the skin on the front and broke the gate latch. Good thing there was lots of water cuz a couple of folks needed to rinse their drawers out....lol.
