Looks like we're screwed. This was the last chance for Americans to re-capture the country. Thanks to my Southern heritage I can understand and speak o-BAMA Ebonics, but I'm too old to try to learn Mexican so I guess I'm screwed. The amazing dynamic to me is young single women elected the Idiot. Go figure.

I suggest you delete that comment as it uncalled for. Or if not, maybe I could just say your actions are cowardly in that you did not stick around to debate the issues toe to toe, but all of a sudden when Obama wins you show up to gloat.

GF, I'm not going to get lovey-dovey with you because I still believe in the principles of self reliance and rewards that befit the effort taken to achieve those rewards.
But, it would be hypocritical of me not to practice what I preach, which is "It matters not what has happened; rather what matters is how you respond to it". Thus, realizing that I don't have what it takes to buy my own Carribbean Island, and knowing that what happened yesterday indeed happened and can't be reversed, I (and other conservatives) must decide how to deal with it.
I still would like to meet you and have a chance to calmly and with civility discuss our differing philosophies and how we can be the best deal with life's realities. You have my email address. It is your move.
And BTW, I never have bought into your charades about keeping your "entitlements"...:>)

I am sorry you Obama haters are not occasionally open to a little humor.
I am more sorry that, even after yesterday, you refuse to open your eyes to the reality of what is happening to the Republican party. The GOP, by kow-towing to the Tea party, has now left 5 senate seats on the table in two cycles and have seen their share of an expanding youth, Hispanic and Black vote drop for 4 cycles. It is time for you and your fellow travelers to begin to wake up...to pay a little more attention to the advice and admonitions Peggy Noonan, Michael Steele, David Frum, Olympia Snowe and "Morning Joe" and less to Karl Rove, Allen West, Sarah Palin, Fox "news" and "Lush Windbag". Please... for the sake of the Party and the Nation.

And one of the weaknesses of the written word is imprecision of intent.

Mr H you once were one of the few on this forum that posed comments that actually made sense. You have been reading MM and WW et al so long that your common sense has been weakened. I see no way how anyone with common sense could read what I said as gloating. I am trying to to make the case for moderation and Imy hope the results yesterday nudge both parties in that direction. If Romney had won and Mourdoch, Welsh, Akin, West and the likes lost, I would still be hopeful that both sides were beginning to see the light.

You obviously didn't take the time to read and comprehend my post. You answered my previous post with saying you Obama haters don't have a sense of humor and I simply corrected you that I am not an Obama hater and that written words sometimes don't convey the intended humor. And as to my paying too much attention to MM and WW I'll tell you this. I pay attention to logic and reason, not emotionalism. I pay attention to what, not who. I've always been that way and don't intend to change.
I've watched Obama over the past four years and the red flags regarding a second four years are too numerous to list here. His utter disregard for our constitution is especially troubling, and with a split Congress I am really concerned that the checks and balances that our forefathers put into place will be enough to keep him from turning us into just another western European nation. I've spent a lot of time in several, the most recent Italy, and they used to be in envy of Americans because of what we were. I say were because we aren't any more and it is just going to get worse.
I'm sorry that my logic and approach doesn't fit your definition of reasonable any more. That's your loss, not mine.
