I like to think that we are all as quick with praise as we are with complaints.  That being said, I would like to recount a recent experience with PCW.  After replacing my residential water pressure regulator and curing my fluctuating water pressure (0-100 lbs per sq inch), I took a minute to disassemble the regulator.  I found it to be filled with red clay and can only assume it entered the system from the supply side.  I contacted Mr. Henley and requested a refund for my replacement regulator and received a check in about a week.  Nice to have a responsible business with which to work.

How does something like that get into a municipal water system, unless they are pumping from an unfiltered well? I could understand deposits in the pipes after a long time but, PWC has not been running that long. Just curious.

It was put there by an Alabama fan, probably the same one who painted the fire hydrants crimson and gray (or off-white, whatever it is).

Or, maybe the kids who put graffiti on the tower also dropped a few nuggets of clay in the tank just for sport.

Everytime the water line is opened to add a new customer or a leak repaired there is a real probability that dirt will get in the line which usually winds up in the pressure regulator.  That's why the company repaid for the regulator; it was their fault.

Also remember, you don't get if you don't ask.

For some reason there are lots of little feifdoms of water companies in this area. I have no idea how this develooped but the result is lots of undercapitalized water companies that are probably politically influenced just can't maintain the systems. The solution is in not calling the water providers but going to see the politicans involved. Tallapoosa county for example has lots of water authorities like this and it begs the question why is there no county water system like most of the southeast?

If the truth were known, these different water companies probably provide a huge income for the managers and are politically connected to the local politicians. All the part time homes around the lake make for high water fees for very low usage which translates into high profits and salaries for the companies.
