Need to re-do or replace the concrete block retaining wall around our patio.  Any suggestions for contractors?  Looking for someone local, if possible - 229/63 area.  Thanks!

For concrete seawalls and various concrete work I always recommend Scott Henderson at Henderson & Coker. Tell him I said to call - 256-329-9001 - http://hendersonandcoker.com/ - they have been doing this for generations so they have tons of experience on what does and does not work at the lake.  Now is the time to work on sewalls, we will have about a 6 or 8 week window with water levels.

Also you might like a recent video I made, one whole side of a seawall fell down, check out the below link:

I can also recommend Henderson and Coker IF you want to pay 3-4 times more than any one of several other contractors that will do the same quality work.  When I got an estimate from them it was so high I could have paid BOTH the other contractors that gave estimates to do the job.  They were also three weeks late coming to give the astronomical quote.  Of course, he informed me when I hired them I was paying for "their name" also.  Do yourself a favor and call around, their a several other contractors that are just as competent and will sell their name much cheaper.

And BTW- I am not the only forum member that has had pretty much the same experience.  John is a great guy and a very respectable realtor, but I don't agree with him on this subject.  The key is to have the wall properly engineered, then most any contractor can affect proper construction.
