Jan 2, 2013.  A bill is introduced in the house to restore tax rates to the 2012 levels on all taxable income below $250,000 (A tax CUT for most of us...MM excepted of course) and cuts discretionary and entitlement spending 1.1 trillion (thus cancelling the automatic cuts).  How do you want your Congressperson to vote?

Archibald finally, finally gets one right. Thank you sir for demonstrating what a bunch of hypocrites the democrats and the messiah are. Pure unadulterated politics on their part which of course you claim to abhor.....but only with Republicans. So tell us Archie, why will this bill be introduced on January 2, 2013?!?!?!? Why not now?!?!?!? The answer is obvious. Just once in your life Archie why not show a shred of intellectual honesty and condemn Democrats for a lack of bipartisanship, for crass cynicism and for playing politics instead of doing their jobs. And you wonder why I abhor the federal government and why I believe Democrats cannot be trusted with power. Only a mind numbed left wing ideologue would ask such a ridiculous question and frame it in such a way. Only a left wing nut would consider letting a current tax rate on Tuesday expire and then propose to reinstate some of those lower tax rates the very next day and call it a tax cut!!!! Absolutely, stunningly mind boggling........but sadly, those Americans that get their news from the govt media will fall for it hook, line and sinker. Hence my opposition to Plan B and my statement that it is a trap. Thanks Archie for carrying the water intended for the mind numbed masses.......or maybe you actually believe this is the right thing to do. Amazing in all its magnificent ignorance...... Oh, and to answer your question, I will remain consistent in my beliefs that we do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem. That even the CBO has already documented that raising the rates on those over $250K will only generate enough revenue to run the federal govt for about 7 or 8 days. That until we focus on the real problem, spending, all this claptrap is just about gathering up the votes of the non-productive by punishing the productive job creators. And you are the poster child for the former.......invincible ignorance on parade.......

Sorry for the snafu

MM I don't give a rat's rear whether it is introduced tomorrow or on Jan 2d.  I don't give a rat's rear whether it is introduced by Allen West or Maxine Watters...answer my question for once in your obfuscation filled existence...how do you want your representative to vote...FOR OR AGAINST A TAX CUT FOR EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THIS COUNTRY WHO PAYS FEDERAL INCOME TAXES??? A  simple "for" or "against" would be fine.

You want to be able to say that Republicans caused all taxes to go up and your messiah et al proposed an imaginary tax cut by letting them first go up and then proposing to go back to yesterday's tax rates (except for the job creators). That my little left wing nut is the politics of this sorry episode and sadly, it will work. As for your question, as I often used in my expert witness testimony "asked and answered". I already told you that it is stupid, counterproductive and harmful to the economy to raise taxes on anyone!!! Regardless of how much or how little they make. Why you ask? I know......you didn't ask because you don't care but I am going to try to educate you anyway, despite your invincible ignorance. 1. It does not solve the fiscal situation we have because our problem is one of spending, not revenue. 2. If you took 100% of the income of every single American making over $250K it would not run the government for 4 months. 3. The estimated additional revenues from the tax increases on those making over $250K will not run the federal govt for even one week. 4. The increased spending that Oblamer wants will consume 75% of those expected revenues (which if history is any indicator that estimate is way low). 5. It will further harm the economy because it will take money from small businesses that are s-corporations and provide the vast majority of jobs in this country at a time when you should want them to have as much cash as possible to invest in their businesses and grow jobs (unless of course you hate this country and want it to crash and burn like Europe). This isn't about fiscal responsibility. This isn't about deficit reduction. This isn't about promoting economic growth. It is about class envy and buying the votes of low-information, economically illiterate voters and satisfying the blood lust of left wing nuts like yourself that resent achievement and economic success. Note to my conservative friends: I know I am wasting my time with Archie. But maybe someday, sometime, somewhere some leftist reading this forum who has an ounce of intellectual honesty and a smattering of economic literacy might read this and do their own research and find out I am 100% correct and will change their views about taxes. Archibald is the main man. Unlike Martin The Wing Nut, Archibald has found a way to stop in to educate us, drop a few deleted posts that say more than the majority of the typical wing nut posts, and add to his total count of posts with deletes. In typical libtard rhetoric, he is concise and takes no prisioners. Only a feeble attempt by Martin The Wing Nut is the best the Right can muster. Like Santa with his sleigh, Archibald drives by in his escalade with 22in tires and always leaves some enlightening posts. Archibald, Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks to me as if it is about to become a stark reality. On Jan 1 the tax increase will become a fact. The great irony is that Mr Boehner and his Republicans voted to set it all in motion in 2010 and compounded the problem with their sequestration trick in 2011. Now, how many people have noticed that MM and now Mr H seem reluctant to answer my simple question? Of course we know the answer...if it is introduced by Allen West or another Republican they will be all for it, if it is proposed by any Democrat they will demand it be sent to he//! No where on earth does hypocrisy reign with such power as on the shores of Lake Martin, AL.

I say vote no unless we get more spending cuts now and the future.  Plus I would hold out for major tax reform.    Obama and all those that voted for him like higher taxes, then let them enjoy them.  Personally, I think that is what Odumbnut wants.  But just thinks he can blame it on the GOP and everyone will just swallow it.  He will be the one breaking yet another campaign promise.  No surprise.

Let all the taxes go up.   Another Obama broken promise.  Vote against just rolling them back after Jan 1unless we get total tax reform a part of it and major spending cuts.  Obama made this bed with thinking he has some sort of mandate to destroy the economy, so he can live with it.  I think the GOP needs to stand firm after Jan 1 to get tax reform and the spending cuts.  They will be rewarded in 2years.

The Bush tax cuts were put in place by the GOP in 2001 and 2002 with a built in expiration date (More irony...they put in a 10 year expiration date as a parliamentary trick so the bill could not be filibustered) It was extended for 2 years in 2010 by the GOP with Obama's very reluctant support.  I'm sure Obama will gladly accept the "credit" for the demise of the Bush era cuts on those making over $250,000 (I know that includes a big shot like you WW), but the GOP will get and deserve ALL the "credit" for the increase on us peasants who must muddle through on our widow's mite.

Personally I hope the T party crowd refuses to vote to extend or replace any of the tax cuts...in one "swell foop" we would immediately see a lot of our fiscal difficulties greatly improved and the T party's demise would be assured!

PS:  My original question to MM and Mr H remain unanswered....SOP for MM but a bit surprising for Mr H.  I'm  glad to credit WW for actually giving an answer...in fact a good one which is pretty much in alignment with my thinking.  Lord, I hope that doesn't cause WW too much pain ;>)

Of course you oppose ANY tax increase on anybody...Lord knows you've made that obvious in almost every post for years...Now once again, do you want your representative to vote for or against "CUTTING" taxes on all with taxable incomes under $250,000.  He//, maybe you don't read English!

Now Mr H...when did pointing out the facts equate with anger?  Seems the anger is with those who still can't come to terms with the FACT Obama won by 4,700,000+ votes. Still waiting for your answer too.

Thanks again for WW for giving an answer which was well considered in spite of the added editorial accoutrements.

You really are dense. You see Archibald, if I oppose raising taxes on anyone that would include those that make more than $250k. Duh! What about that do you not understand? I am not stupid and am not playing your dumb game that if they vote no it means a tax increase for everyone. The reason it is a stupid question is because their strategy is so blatantly obvious. What I would do if I were Boehner is pass a bill making the current rates permanent. Then when it dies in the Senate I would run an ad campaign across the country that points out that Dingy Harry and TOTUS are going to let everyone's tax rates go up, all because of their class envy. I would also point out that what those morons are proposing will not accomplish anything other than satisfy the blood lust of losers in life like you. Yes TOTUS will have the govt media to carry his lying water like the sycophants they are which is why they should bypass them altogether. Go straight to the American people and tell them the truth. But you see the problem with guys like Boehner is they actually believe that Democrats care about this country. They don't realize that they hate the country and those that make it work like the job creators.

No GF, I am more like an exasperated adult who has answered their 4- year old child multiple times but they are too dumb to actually understand it. Like an adult with a child, which Archie clearly is, I understand all too well where they are headed with their childish question and I try to cut them off at the pass. But like the infant he is, I eventually have to take Archie to the woodshed to get him to understand I am not going to head down that road. See my explanation below as I point out the pathetic trick question he is asking. My Lord, I think he actually thinks he is being clever by asking a question that is so obviously meant to lead to a certain point.....at least obvious to those of us with the intellect to see that. I would be offended that he thinks I am that obtuse but I really believe Archie thinks he is being clever. Must have read about this political strategy in the Huff n Puff post.......

What you seem to think I am "proposing" may or may not be dumb and moronic, but it  in fact what will be the reality on Jan 1 unless something miraculous happens before then.  At that point the question will no longer be about tax increases for EVERYBODY but about tax cuts for MOST people. I say let all the tax increases (in 2010 they were extended for only 2 years by agreement of both parties and the president) stand and become a part of a complete overhaul and reform of revenue and spending.  Obviously you either have no opinion whether to cut the taxes as they stand on Jan 1 or, not for the first time, don't have the guts to reveal it.

"Duh" what about the above don't you understand?

Now if we could only get him to answer the actual question asked instead of the question he wishes had been asked.

You see MM, adults do not think it is being cute or clever or moronic or rhetorical or anything other than reasonable to ask someone, especially someone who ALWAYS has an opinion and usually rushes to express it, to answer a question about an situation which is almost certain to be a reality for us all in just 10 days.  Could it be only WW and I have the guts to answer it.

I told you what I would do Archibald but you apparently cannot be taught......the definition of a liberal. What they need to do is obvious. Pass a bill that makes the current rates permanent. What you don't get Archie is that Obama and Harry Reid are hell bent on exactly the strategy you are proposing. It is so obvious I can't believe I even need to explain it. There will never be a deal. The messiah is an ideologue, he will never compromise, he hasn't a shred of desire to be bipartisan. His strategy is so obvious it boggles the mind that someone would even pose the question. If I worried about our future with people like you being able to vote I can say with certainty that we are doomed......of course I will be fine as will my children. But the middle and working class are doomed......and they voted for it so I am to the point where I could care less about them. Elections have consequences and they are about to experience them.

This will be my last words on this question.  I have reread all your posts and frankly do not see an answer to the question asked unless it is in such a convoluted logical cloud that my feeble brain cannot devine it.  Maybe you consider spouting talking points is answering a serious and sincere question.  Are you are saying that after the tax rates for all go up on Jan 1st you will be oppose any effort to  immediately restore the expired tax cuts to only those who have taxable income < $250,000 (even though that restores the cuts on ALL income under $250,000 even for the "rich") because your rigid ideology somehow interprets that as a tax increase rather than a tax cut?  Well, if that is what you are trying to say, good for you...we are in agreement on what needs to happen even while disagreeing on why.  Proud of you MM.  Let the cliff fall begin!

Now, where do you stand Mr. H...do we preserve the cuts for most now and go over the cliff with a parachute  or go over  hard and then dig our way out with real reform?

Problem with your theory is the assumption that the Senate ever voted on a bill.......not happening with Dingy Harry acting as the lap dog for TOTUS. I would ask how you and your alter ego could in good conscience support not having a budget and racking up trillions in debt since 2006 when Dems took control but that would assume you have one when it comes to saddling your children and grandchildren with this mess. Scratch that, they voted for it and I just hope I am around long enough to laugh in their faces when they realize what is happening to them and how they voted for their own economic doom.........now that is going to be delicious irony......
