and neither did Obama for that matter. Looks pretty good to me . CHRISTMAS sales up 0.7 to 1.2% over 2011 which was up 4 to 5% above 2010. I'm sure the weather (Sandy) + the scare headlines about the fiscal cliff + the outrage from everybody except Wayne La Pierre over Newtown + the election and aftermath + fierce competition from retailers which brought steeper discounting than usual all had a somewhat chilling effect on total dollars spent but the real culprit was, of course, the terrible WAR ON CHRISTMAS all us "liberals" have been waging for years as so accurately and fearlessly covered by the undaunted reporters at Fox (we distort you comply) News!
BTW: Did you see the estimated growth for last quarter has been revised sharply upward to well over 3%? I know you hate it MM (you will never admit it of course) but things are or at least were getting better at an accelerating rate. Alas, you may yet get good news yet as it appears that the lame duck T partiers will happily throw sand in the gears of the economy and make us all suffer needlessly just to one more time spit in the face of the man who has just been reelected president by their fellow citizens by a surprisingly large margin.

To whom do you show outrage because some cowardly lowlife kills children? Sounds like yet another "ban the tools" stickman. This is how it has worked everywhere else in the world - first ban assault weapons - essentially done in about 1986, them ban semi-auto firearms based on appearance (done in 1993, and sunsetted ten years later after doing nothing to "prevent crime"), now go for round two. Next up - register the weapons so "we can track down the owners of guns used in crimes". After that - here come the nice people to pick up your guns - "just leave them on your front porch, or we will come in to get them". THAT is the way it has worked EVERYWHERE ELSE it was started - works just as well as Socialism, and in conjunction with it...

The United States Government has proved, time and again, that it is incapable of efficiently managing ANYTHING or of stopping short of assuming additional powers not granted in the original law, either by Supreme Court "interpretation" or by Executive Order.
If YOU believe that our GOVERNMENT can effectively keep ANY weapon, of any kind, out of the hands of a determined criminal/psycho murderer, then YOU are the fool.

I guess that should be no surprise. When it's Bush, $180 billion in deficit spending is an outrage but under your messiah $1.3 trillion is not even worth a worry. When unemployment under Bush hit 6% it was a travesty but 11% under TOTUS is a victory. When the GOP passes budget after budget they are the party of no but when the Harry Reid led Senate fails to pass a budget for over 4 years and Oblamer can't get a single vote on his budgets from either party you slobber and froth at the mouth about a non existent party that has no control over anything.
I could go on for pages pointing out your blatant hypocrisy, your profound invincible ignorance and your undeniable double standard but you are a waste of my brain cells so I will stop here. Worst Christmas sales since we were in the depths of the recession and you are feeling pretty good. You are like the govt worker that sets low standards and then consistently fails to meet them. Archie and his affirmative action president........a perfect match.

Perhaps I should have been more clear.... I agree that murderers will kill regardless of what weapons they have or don't have, just as burglars will burgl, and rapists will rape. I agree 100% that bans will NOT keep tools/weapons out of their hands, my point is that the "assault weapons ban" is simply another step towards turning the American citizens into subjects of the Government. Anyone with more than five functional brain cells should be able to understand that the second amendment is in place to help prevent a tyrannical Government, and THAT scares the feces out of the "Government is your friend" people. If you check out al.com, one of their "reporters" says that those of us who oppose an oppressive Government would be screwed anyway - "the Government has drones". It seems like most liberals with that mindset would be happy as pigs in Government administration if they were French subjects.
