An absolute abomination to any progressive society. Think about it??

My wife and I work for 40+ years drawing a paycheck, paying taxes along the way for each dollar, carefully saving dollars each month and investing them, sending kids to college without government help, still saving money, actually paying off mortgages early, paying into Social Security Trust every year, and,,,, and,,,, and,, We come to retirement age.

We never thought that Social Security would be there for us. Maybe, maybe not under current circumstances. That's why we SAVED money, just in case.

To think that the Federal Government is entitled to one red cent of the wealth that we have accumulated over 40 years is sickening. Already taxed, both when earned and when it grew. Not again. But, yep, it is , at a high rate.

No wonder people with a portfolio are looking for ways to move their holdings out of country or give it away, before our leeches in DC come looking for it to support their favorite project.

Hey, there is no tax on the first $10 million. You rich people with over $10 million estates need to give the excess to charity.

Thats Warren Buffett and Bill Gates solution.  Call for higher taxes and then do everything they can to avoid paying them themselves.  Liberal hypocrites know no bounds.

but, mostly, taken sideways, as usual on this forum.

My point was why make the effort in the first place?? Why save and invest for the future?? What is to prevent round two of the "Cliff Negotiations" in March 2013 results in that $10M exclusion on an inheritance gets dropped to say, that magic definition of "Rich" at $500K?? What is to prevent raiding savings/401K Right Now?? NOTHING at all.

Just another example of the damage that occurs when voters turn a blind eye to what their representatives are doing for them, in their best interest, of course. Bless their hearts. And their re-election war chest.

So what is the magic number that divides "excess" from "need" GF?
