Will some of yall PLEASE take AMMO back to the store.  GEEEZE.  Madison and I went all over Prattville, Academy Sports, Bass Pro, and everywhere else looking for .22 cal. long rifle.  GONE, it's all bought up.  We just want to go squirral hunting this weekend.  It's a .22 for crying out loud!  I have no idea what to do when I need bullets for her Deer Rifle.  And it's just a 22-250.  Obama sure has done a good job for improving the Bullet making/gun sales economy.  I sure hope he starts a campaign to "Take away all boats".   Heck, I'll sell out.  LMAO.  Really, I need .22 cal. for hunting.

I have a couple boxes if you want them. Give me a call and lets figure out when and how I can get them to you.

Remington Thunderbolt High Velocity 22 Long Rifle Round Nose.  Wal-Mart "specials" (i.e., cheap, but they've never failed in my 1957 J. C. Higgins single shot rifle.)

Compared to the rest of my collection the single shot 22 gives real meaning to the term "plinking".  My other weapons go boom, bang, and pow....then I bring out the 22 and it goes "plink, plink".

Cat, If you need some 22 for later let me know. I have a few rounds I could spare. As for the 22-250, it will be available as soon as the hysteria is over and things settle down. I also heard that boats over 12 feet &15 HP were going to be outlawed in March in ALabama. If you have one you can keep it but none will be available new after March 1. There will be a checkpoint at all state lines to keep them out.  (Maybe that will help boat sales :-).

The Atlanta Highway WalMart in Montgomery still has a few boxes of 22-250.  I really don't understand the hysteria around 22 LR ammo....For all practical purposes GONE, at least for now.  I can find just about everything else by shopping around, but the 22 ammo has been scarfed up by somebody.

Madi and I have a "plinkin" target set up here at home (I live in the Country).  We shoot a good bit.  I enjoy the time with her, (she is 12) and sometimes we have a little friendly competition.  Most of the time, she wins.  LOL.  Her gun is a Mossberg .22 bolt action Plinkster.  Yep, and it is "PINK" in color.  Funny.  She shot her first Deer Tuesday.  I was with her in an enclosed stand, it was pretty exciting.

Cat, I am glad Madison is taking my advice and no steady dating while spending weekends shooting squirrels with her Dad. And yes, you can tell her I said that. :-)

First - I reload for everything I shoot except .410 and .22 rimfire, so I have to buy that ammunition, but I stay well-stocked on the .22 because it is fun to shoot and relatively inexpensive.

Second - You can carry 500 rounds of rimfire in your pockets and resolve most issues if you need to.  Like my wife likes to say "with her .22, she can get large caliber weapons" if she needs something like that.. ;-)

I told her what you said.  Scarey thing is, she remembers you.  LMAO.  She said," Yep, thats that funny man that was at the lake and Mr. Rodneys house".  LMAO

Heck ya she would remember me.  Kids love to have their ideas challenged......best part is one day she will also realize I was right.

There you go picking on children again.  I know you said Archie was no longer a challenge, but Cat's daughter?

LOL

Now, now....its not that I was picking on her.  I just happened to mention to her that we don't allow our kids to "steady date" until they reach the age where they are actually considering finding a spouse.  I pointed out all the benefits of that approach.  She thought I was totally nuts.....but the funny thing was she kept coming back for more.  She is a great kid and Cat should be proud of her.......of course we know Dee Dee deserves all the credit......at least that is the way it works in our house.  :-)

Oh and by the way, my oldest daughter came into the conversation for a few minutes and just laughed hearing me giving the same lecture to Cat's daughter that she had heard many times.  Funny thing is her older brother and she both tell me today that I was right and how much of the pain and agony that their friends experienced that they missed,

Oh I knew you were kidding......funny you said that because I was in a bible study this morning and that very topic came up. One of our guys is a therapist and he was lamenting how many parents come into see him and how much deference they give to 16, 17, 18 year old kids.  He pointed out that while they may be highly intelligent they lack education and wisdom, which brought up that quote.  He says he wants to scream at them and say, "Your kid doesn't know s h i t!!!!  Stop giving them more credit than they have earned!!!".  A little off color for a bible study but entirely off the mark given the circumstances.
