I am shocked at the leftist student body at Johns Hopkins are demanding that Dr. Ben Carson, a prominent black neurosurgeon not be the school commencement speaker. Those filthy racists! They only oppose him because he is black! I think each student that signed the petition needs to go before the student judiciary and take sensitivity classes. They need to realize that any opposition to blacks is de facto racism.......we've learned that over the last six years. Disgusting racists......what are they teaching students at that school anyway?!?!?

A black man that founded BET just was featured in an article complaining about the black unemployment rate. He blamed the education system as well as white prejudice in the business community for the 14 to 15 percent unemployment rate among the black community.
If our present administration would spend more time weeding out the bad teachers, as were reported in the site I posted, the problem might lessen over the next 10 to 15 years. Liberals have always been the type follow the adage, "When all else fails...CHEAT!" I'm not aiming my blast at any particular race or religion. I'm saying this has been the way of our school system for at least 20 years and the liberals have run the school systems for at least the last 20 years. Enough ranting, I'm hunkered down waiting for the blast I'm going to receive from the Ménage à trois that has been posting here. If I give them the time to get together and come up with a collective insult I will hear from them then.

Just what we need more Federal intervention in our local schools. That is a state and local responsibility. Everyday, you sound either totally confused or a closet liberal. Maybe, your boyfriend can help you.

The degradation of the schools has been going on a lot longer than twenty years. I watched Dr. Ben Carson last night on Hannity. Phenomenal man. He pointed out that back in the day it was illegal for a slave to learn to read. The slave masters knew if the slaves learned to read, they would also learn to escape their bonds. In the dark ages it was the same with religion. The few priests that actually had a copy of the bible and could read rose up to 'lead' the peasants to Christianity while only they, the chosen few actually knew what was printed in the Bible. But then came Gutenberg and his invention of moveable typesetting and the first books mass produced were Bibles. Once the copies existed and the masses learned to read and hence interpret the bible for themselves the churches power began to wain.
If you want to oppress any group of humans, you must keep them ignorant and incapable of critical thought. The blacks of today are more a slave to the democrat party than most of the blacks that picked cotton on plantations. If you didn't see Dr. Carson last night it is well worth the time and trouble to find it and watch it. It was just last week that it was reported that over 80% of NYC public indoctrination centers aka schools, were graduating students without the ability to read. Sad. Very sad. But I can assure you that the vast majority of those illiterate graduates can spit out the foul filth called "lyrics" to dozens of hiphop/rap songs that degrade women, whites and anyone in a position of authority.

I was in high school in the early 60's and the Army in the late 60's. I remember well the marches and demonstrations for civil rights and an end to segration. Night after night, on the nightly news, I heard black leaders discuss the reasons they felt opportunities were denied to them. Equal opportunity for jobs and education were chief amongst their complaints. Backs were discriminated against in job opportunities chiefly due to poor quality of education and in that era were thought to be less inteligent that their caucasion counter parts and YES bigotry did play a role as well.
An inteligent person would rightly surmise if you improve the education of black students, it would follow that
job and other opportunities would follow. This along with equal employment would put black people on equal footing with the rest of the country. Well, here we are over 50 years later and while we have more than enough laws that should have ended job descrimination and lead to equal education among black students, a problem remains.
That problem is education among black students and now among most everyone else as well.
I remember an older man and neighbor from the 60's that predicted exacly that. He and my father often debated the merits of integration with my father supporting it and the neighbor defending his position.
If both were alive today, I'm sure that the neighbor would stick a finger in dad's face and with a satisfied grin on his face say "I told you so!".
I believe that school integration did not succeed because beginning in the 60's the educational system itself began to fail. With many black students being called OREOs or other names when they began to succeed and compete with their white counterparts, it became something "bad" to succeed in school. When the under achievers among the white students took on this "it's ok to fail" mantra, the schools were doomed.
Couple all of this with an educational system that does not reward success, teachers that are not allowed to think outside the box and taylor teaching techniques to situations at hand and teacher unions that secure the jobs of even the worst teachers and you have an environment that can only fail everyone.
