We picked up "to go" last night at Oskar's and Nick's.  Both lots were packed.

Just scanned over the "family friendly" menu from the new Kowliga resturant....Food has to be good with a $14.00 Hamburger steak.....$22.00 Shrimp platter....and a cheeseburger for 9.00..........plus your down to earth $2.50 tea.......wow,  with those prices Ben will be rich again.......

Looks like, in spite of their promise to go back to the original type of restaurant, they have reincarnated Sinclairs with different menu items. I would prefer simpler and a wee bit less expensive, but that isn't what they are offering.

The only one who realized the prices were right back to ridiculous. Russell gonna be Russell. Unfortunately with the lack of places to go they got u by the )&$:;-@. Of course having a new deck to sit on justifies it though. :-)

You the same guys that pay $25 for a pizza at Chucks?

I can't say the prices are anything different than Ruby Tuesday, Longhorn  and the like. It's a $20 lunch and a $40 dinner for two. What will make it successful is having exceptional quality and service. The best combo for the lower price gang is Oskar's and (was?) Bucks'. I suspect if the chef at Springhouse is running the joint then it will be pretty darn good. BE glad you aren't paying Atlanta or 'Ham prices. That would take you from whining to tears :-)

There are different ways of looking at pricing for sure. The box we often get put into is that (at least at our place) when we are at the lake we often are hosting others as well...family and/or friends. Think feeding 8 or 10 rather than a couple and it starts hurting pretty quickly, especially if adult beverages are involved. I do agree that the ambiaence could make a difference. If there is that "sit on the steps and enjoy a cold beverage with friends (and strangers) while waiting on a table" atmosphere, the price becomes secondary. I remain to be convinced that Russell can pull that off. Doesn't seem to be in their DNA.

Great point. I have seen restaurants at the beach pull that off...price menu outside or on the deck and pride inside. Nice catch.
