Let me preempt Archie's predictable crowing about 3% GDP when the numbers come out in July. As it turns out they are revising the way GDP is calculated to include tens of billions of dollars that were not previously included in the calculation. Of course when the new numbers are issued my less than prescient predication is that the govt media will ignore that little factoid and proclaim the GDP numbers as proof that Obamanomics is working.......which of course we all know it is a miserable failure. Sadly, the low information voter will buy it hook, line and sinker.

What will be in the numbers that were not in the past? Details work best for informing the Low Info voters, and I'd like to start helping to informing them before July.

Mostly it will be intangibles that were not previously included. Includes capitalizing R&D which used to be a cost, motion pictures, music, books, etc. All prior results will be revised to reflect these numbers but the practical effect will be to add the equivalent of the GDP of Belgium to our GDP in one fell swoop.

To be clear, I am not for or against the addition of these intangible assets. What I am predicting is that the govt media will be crowing about the magical 3% GDP as the economy continues to falter (see the March economic data and you will see why I say falter) and will imply that it is evidence of Obama's domestic economic policies working. The low information voters will only know that the number went from less than 1% annual GDP to 3% but not why. Just watch and wait to see if my prediction comes true. Only uninformed and the blatantly biased left wing nuts will consider this progress......
