I have NO financial interest. However, if you own a boat or pontoon I would seriously consider the coverage. It is only $67 for the year. Cheap insurance if you need it and not much for peace of mind if you don't use it.

Beer wouldn't do. Champagne and caviar maybe. You know he's used to everything being given to him on a silver platter.

Trust me for $67, you would be better off with Towboat.

I talked to the young couple that owns the business a few weeks ago at a boating class and was very impressed.  Both have Captain's licenses. My first thought was that I have only had to be towed once in 33 years.  But after hearing their presentation, I decided it was a valuable addition to the Lake Martin Community and they need to succeed.  So I'm joining and putting their number in my cell phone.

My view is if you boat enough, you will need a tow sooner or later. I estimate I have towed or been on a boat that has towed at least one person per year for the last 25 years. Probably 50 total now that I think about it.

Most recently was Friday. I was out by Emerald Shores, heading to Blue Creek Marina when I was flagged down by a toon full of people. Seemed like nice folks. They were having trim problems and wanted a tow to Habor Pointe Marina. Since it was only 500 yards away I consented - on one condition. They said "absolutely!! Whatever you say! What is it?!!" I said - do yourself and your passengers a favor, and get yourself a membership with TowBoat US. I told them all about it and they were super enthusiastic. I gave them Nicki's cell phone number and they said they were calling right then as I was fixing the ropes.

As that was happening they were finally able to trim down and didn't need the tow after all. They thanked profusely anyway, and we left. I saw Nicki and Jackson the next day at the Ridge and they said the toon didn't sign up. Disappointing. $67 to me is a small price to pay for added safety, if nothing else.

I am all for chivalry and rules of the sea, but if I see those folks again and they need a tow, I will think twice.

I could understand if the price was like $600 or something. But for a price that's way less than one tank of gas, it's done. Every time we go for a boat ride, we probably have $67 worth of drinks and snacks on board. It's almost like they are saying, I would rather inconvenience someone else than pay $67.

Agree, price is very reasonable.  Jackson was in here this morning for a visit.  They are good people and work hard.  Also, he spoke of a Mercury 225 Optimax he has for sale if anyone is looking.

Does the membership cover me or a specific boat?  I have a pontoon and a jetski...will I need two memberships? If it covers a specific boat, does it matter who is driving it?

I was wondering about response time.  It is a big lake and if responders aren't positioned correctly response time could be a very long wait.  Also do they tow to the nearest ramp, repair facility or to your house if you live on water.  Lots of questions.  Maybe the owners should post with some details.  Seems like a good deal, but the devil is in the details.

Right about that. If this is the same people who came to our lake about two years ago, I have nothing do to with them.  Looked at their tow vs salvage pictures.  Now, I had a friend whose battery went out and rainwater had sunk the stern quite a bit at their dock. Per their pictures that would have ruled that a salvage when all it needed was a fresh battery of charge that battery. World of diff and If that is how they operate on our lake, I don't want nothing to do with em. Oh, Salvage means they take the boat and ownership of that boat. Yeah, I got a big problem with that.

The BoatUS Umlimited freshwater membership that we offer for $67 per year covers the person who's name is on the membership and their immediate family members, spouse and children, on any boat that they own or operate. So, if you own a pontoon, ski, bass, cruiser, and jet ski, all of those boats are covered if you or a immediate family member needs on water assitance.

We cover the entire lake 24/7/365. Our average response time is around thrity minutes. We will tow you safely back to your desired location anywhere on the lake, not the closest marina or ramp. (if you break down at the hwy. 280 bridge and need to get back to your home dock in Willow Point we will take you there and with the Umlimited membership, there would be NO out of pocket expense). The key to the membership is to have it BEFORE you need it. The membership is valid at midnight of the day you purchase it (you buy today you are good tomorrow).

We do provide salvage, wreck removal, and diving services. These services are not covered under the membership and we are happy to provide a free quote with no obligation to use our services. We are not pirates and do not want to take your boat from you! We are here to help out the Lake Martin boaters and community. Costmer service and safety are our highest priorities.

We are very excited to have started our second year with putting a second TowBoat in service to keep up with demand and keeping our response times to a minimum.

I hope this answers any questions or concerns about our service. If anyone has any other questions or would like to sign up with us please fill free to call at anytime.
