May I suggest a new category titled Lake Martin Advertisers where paid advertisers can post specials, weekend menus, deals, whatever. This would enable advertisers to post and those interested to read without negative comments toward paid advertisers. I hate to see long threads over the merit of advertisers posting and equally hate the posts. A separate category would resolve it.

Good idea, like it.

When it has to do with life on our lake (like a lunch special, info about tow boats, etc) I like it just the way it is......good info in the right place.

I would agree. The worst case scenario painted in another post where real estate agents, lawn services, dock builders and so forth clog the forum simply has not materialized, and thus "it ain't broke, so don't fix it".

agree, and would dd, should that happen the value to advertisers would be greatly reduced.

It ain't broke...  Keep the specials coming for those of us out on the lake looking for a deal, they're always appreciated.  Truth be told, if there were an advertiser's forum, would anybody read it?  Seems like it would be a waste of time.

Now, what can we do to get the sun to come out so we can enjoy this beautiful lake?  It's May already???

Hope gone fishin doesn't blow a gasket over the post I just put up! I agree as well. These are lake topics and have no clue why anyone would not want to know about the businesses that are here to help full time as well as the weekend folks

If you read through the "20% Off" thread below I believe that you'll get the sense that a very small minority of forum readers object to posts like yours and shay's, while a strong majority, me included, welcome them. I find your post above to be very enlightening, especially with the method of dealing with the mold and mildew remover and having the patience do do one or two seats at a time instead of a broad brush, incomplete effort across the entire boat. We picked up a used pontoon last summer and I was able to do half before winter, and this spring the half I did still looks good while the other half will require some significant effort to get clean once again. Keep posting!

I will time permitting. Our spring rush has been going since last fall

I still fail to understand why moving advertising posts to a separate topic is an issue. I am not suggesting to eliminate them but enhance them and encourage more advertisers to post specials. Can you imagine if all the advertisers decided to follow Shay's example and advertise every week on their own topic thread? It would be read by many with a positive attitude toward the advertiser.

He does have a great web site with the menu and hours which is very easy to find and use and great food. I am not negative Shay,  but rather, negative advertisers using the thread to advertise their products.
