Put on your tinfoil hats, because I saw something strange tonight. Just after 9:00 pm, my brother called everyone down to the pier because he saw some red lights in the sky. By the time we made it down there, they were gone, but as we were walking back to the cabin, we heard "Dad! There's another one!". When we went back down, there was a red light low on the horizon, and another one rising up. They did not get very high (the first one was at about the 2:00 position, while the second one was lower and to the right), and they hovered in that position for about a minute before fading out. My brother said that they have seen these lights before, and one time there were fifteen of them. I think they were helicopters, but I don't know of any place where helicopters would be landing and taking off west of us. We are on Little Kowaliga Creek between Real Island and Junction Island just south of the 34.7396 degree line in my DeLorme Atlas. My guess is that it is some sort of military exercise, perhaps helicopters dropping Special Forces types in a field between Martin and Jordan. Anyone have a clue (besides little green men from Mars)?

You are looking almost directly at lakngulfs house and he lives across the water Mac. They are preparing for tomato wars.....since the maters are not yet ripe, they are currently launching potatos at each other and using red glow in the dark paint on the traces.

No need to contact Area 51...mystery solved. After observing the same flying phenomenon, the objects were determined to be Chinese lanterns. They are commonly used during a celebration such as a wedding or memorial service. But then again...the thought of several stealth helicopters making no sound and creating no down drafts is a much more fun story.

I work with someone who lives near Titus, and he said that there is a place where they conduct military training exercises in that area. They were training over the weekend, and several helicopters buzzed his house around midnight. This would support my theory that what I saw was a training exercise since Titus is roughly west of our place.

They were the Chinese lanterns....let go just east of Pleasure Point Marina. There was a band playing. We saw two go up.
The nicest little green man was waving..........maybe a Martian southerner.
