During the day a good exhaust note IS music, it draws Mrs. Summer and me out... So much of the "music" from the wakeboard destroyers sounds more like a CAT that just had someone step on his stones in the parking lot.

Wake Boat sitting at the dock blasting Rap/MF/GDMF slime at max volume.

Go-Fast passing up Parker Creek (PC, not to be confused with Politically Correct) is gone before you can get the glasses on him. Or, one of several neighbors who fly floatplanes/helos up and down PC doing touch and goes.

I vote for brief EXHAUST. CAT came to visit one day in his rocket sled. Could hear him coming at IDLE way before he came into the slough. Waited until he was well away before he sicked the Kitty. Next day, Miss Dotty next door wanted to know how she could get a ride. She's at least 80. Go figure.

The right music is OK loud and long term by me. Often it is not "right".
Exhaust is usually "Gone in 60 Seconds".

Both.

But what I really really like is when I see a non go fast boat open up their Captain Call Exhausts and I am out on the pontoon. I chase these fools down and pass them -- shaking my head like your are an idiot letting a pontoon outrun your big Captain Call Exhausts. Makes my day everytime as these folks obviously have Napoleon syndrome :).
