This should any father with a daughter cringe when they hear comments like this.
A suggestion by Sen. Saxby Chambliss during the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that “hormones” may be behind the growing problem of sexual assault in the military immediately triggered criticism from both sides of the aisle Tuesday.
“The young folks that are coming into each of your services are anywhere from 17 to 22, or 23,” the Georgia Republican said. “Gee whiz, the level -- the hormone level created by nature sets in place the possibility for these types of things to occur.; So we've got to be very careful of how we address it on our side.”
No Senator....they re criminals!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it is not politically correct because it recognizes that there is a difference in the two sexes (that would be male and female.) So to choose to ignore the obvious is not logical.
Does your entire world revolve around who gets elected and when? To the point that you can ignore basic facts of external reality? Do you have a daughter, or ever talked with a woman? They tend to have a different attitude and approach when compared to the average fish, and biologically it is explained by hormonal influence (that's a big scientific explanation)

The reality is quite simple. He was implying that a young male in the military has raging hormones and that may be why there are so many sexual assaults. I do hope you are not rying to imply that you agree with his thought process.

I wasn't a supporter of Saxby, but became one because he(and others) seriously tried(are trying) to do something about the extreme partisan politics of DC(and elsewhere). Our country has to, and hopefully will, move forward. This childish, self-serving, job protecting "bull" needs to stop.

A rare voice of reason. Welcome and please stick around, but don't expect any sympathy from this bunch. Most of them are blinded by hatred of any opinion not in alignment with theirs and most of the rest are a couple of bottles short of a sixpack. The problem is that some idiots let lack of self control of their hormones go to far (rape) and they mostly get away with it because much of the male dominated command structure has the same views as Saxby. When your buddy gets away with something you sometime try it too. When the MALE officer put in charge of monitoring and ending sexual harassment issues is removed because he accused of sexual harassment you have a problem. When a higher MALE officer has the power to overturn a sexual harassment conviction you have a problem.

So the main trouble is copycat crime? They lose control of their hormones? - unfortunately here you cant legislate hormones in the way liberals want to legislate guns, or that would be the simple solution. But, if we had the right guys in charge of who survives to adulthood, we could select out the ones with the right hormones (and self-control) to prevent this kind of thing from happening. And we could put Michelle Obama, Oprah, and Barbara Streisand in charge of military command (and Michael Moore and Rachel Maddow for balance)

so we can't "legislate "hormones"...do we take rape out of the criminal code and and make it a "slap on the wrist" misdemeanor, maybe even just make it just part of growing up. Sounds as if you think it is no big deal when the boys let their "hormones" get the best of them and don't stop when she says stop. After all it is mother nature letting the boys be boys.
