We have had Comlink internet since they first offered it.  I am/was a great supporter as it worked great for years.  Over the last two years, lots of trouble, comes and goes.  Great right now, but that may change when more of Friday crowd gets here.

They offer various speeds.  I have the lower tier  3 down and .5 up.  I think the most you can purchase is 20 down and 1 up.  When it is working speakeasy shows that we get the 3/.5.......when it is working.  Hopefully they are adding more bandwidth to our area.

is the architecture of the cable itself. Charter puts down a single fat coax cable down a street that everybody with Charter hooks onto. All street cables in an area feed to a single fatter(? hopefully) cable that carries all traffic to a head end elsewhere. Each customer who is added to the cable, both internet and TV,  slows it down a little. Too many customers means slow service or peaks and valleys, eventually bad service until the cable load is relieved.

I have the 20/1 plan with C L . It mostly works like it should for a few days in the middle of the week. BUT... on the weekends it can be so slow my upload speed (1.0m) is faster than dload speed (.58m). Right know it's at 17m.  I have been complaining about this issue for about 6 months. They just sent a letter acknowledging the problem and they say it should be resolved in a few months.

I too have been having trouble with Com-Link for about 6 months.  During the week the speeds are OK but even with that sometimes the latency is awful.  So much so that it is difficult to stream netflix or mlb.com even when the speeds should be acceptable.

I finally got sick of complaining with no resolution and I tracked down the email address of the CEO.  He got back to me and told me that the company underestimated the usage at the lake (no kidding).  He explained to me that they were using outdated equipment from Windstream, and that they were trying to get more up to date gateways to AT&T backbone or something like that.  I don't remember exactly.  He said it should be repaired in 60 days or so (great, there goes the summer using it).

Every night on thurs thru Mon, my speeds deteriorate to less than dialup.  I am out of luck if I want to stream a baseball game or a movie.  Sometimes the latency triples and quadruples.  Was thinking of switching to Windstream DSL but after the CEO told me that they were hopping on the internet using Windstream, no way I'm going to switch one problem for another.

Just crappy service all around.
