Subject:   Watching Obamacare implode
Date:   7/11/2013 11:20:15 AM

I wish I could claim some unique insight but as we watch Obamacare implode from its own weight of incompetence, malfeasance and stupidity, we unfortunately also are forced to watch SOTUS once again violate federal law.  So Congress passes this unmitigated disaster and TOTUS as the time proudly signs it into law.  Turns out to be so wildly unpopular that it becomes an election burden for the Dems so what does SOTUS do?  In classic Friday evening before a national holiday he dumps out two big delays in implementation in direct contravention of a duly passed law. Of course we recognize his ultimate goal is to get as many Americans addicted to their so-called "free" health care.

So now you can tell the exchanges anything you want to get the subsidy with no fear that they will check on you and businesses are given a one-year pass on the mandate provision.  So far I think the GOP is playing this about right by suggesting we get rid of the whole law and replace it with individual reforms that actually make sense.  Will never happen as long as Harry Reid is Senate majority leader and that was in dire jeopardy if the law was implemented on schedule.

Of course the govt media is marching lockstep as the useful idiot sycophants that they are in allowing SOTUS to violate federal law with nary a peep.  If I were the next GOP POTUS I would pretty much do whatever I please and my only response to the howls that we would surely hear is that I was just following the precedent of their false god Barack Obama....next question.......then repeat.

" replace it with individual reforms that actually make sense."

Why do the Conservatives suddenly have all the answers? They offered nothing after the defeat of Hillarycare other than promises. Where were they when Bush was POTUS for 8 years? They did nothing to reform healthcare. You and your kind offer nothing except empty rhetoric like reforms that make sense. Wow a billiant proposal that even i agree with but you and your kind never proposed anything.

Just like the Farm bill passed today that was proposed last night. GOP voted and never read it. They striped out Food Stamps and expect the Dems to support it. They waste time and accomplish nothing. The Senate will kill it and back to 0. Now, you can listen to Rush, Hannity, and Beck for some talking points.

i do give Bush credit for Medicare D...Prescription Drugs.

GFY quote, "i [sic] do give Bush credit for Medicare D...Prescription Drugs."

h_hob quote, "i can understand you saying that, you (GFY) are getting something for nothing just like the rest of the liberal leaches."  i'm surprised Archiebelle isn't sitting behind you whispering sweet nothings in your ear while you spout your venom.

You have a lot of nerve criticizing Republicans for wanting to implement sensible reforms considering the abomination that you have supported lock, stock and barrel from day one.

The fact is the reason that there was no health care reform prior to Obamacare is because 80% of Americans said they liked their insurance coverage, whether it was provided by their employer or by the govt.  There was no reason for the monumental takeover to occur and like Hillarycare it was unwanted and unneeded, the difference being Bill Clinton had enough brains to give up instead of foolishly diving into a utopian nightmare (i.e., he chose ambition over ideology unlike the idiot affirmative action president we currently have).  The majority of Americans didn't want it and still don't and every single poll shows it.  That is why SOTUS has chosen to violate federal law rather than fully implement this piece of crap disaster that I told you it would be because I understand economics, the nature of government and history.  What should have happened was Congress develop sensible legislation to address those that were unable to get insurance through an employer and actually wanted it, some way to cover pre-existing conditions and to allow Americans to buy health insurance across state lines like every other kind of insurance. Had Obama pushed for those kinds of sensible reforms he might have accomplished something that Americans actually wanted in a bipartisan fashion instead of pursuing a socialist loser wet dream that didn't get one Republican vote and had to be passed using chicanery instead of the normal legislative process.

This is his disaster and he and the Democrats should own it instead of running away like frightened babies pushing off implementation now that the morons actually understand what we knew from the beginning......this is a total train wreck and it is 100% the fault of your party.  This is why they do not deserve any power and could not get it if it weren't for the success of the left in dumbing down the country.

You need to learn to deal with the absolute train wreck (Max Baucus, Democrat) that your false god foisted on this country and quit worrying about what might have been and criticizing others that didn't give us this mess.

"because 80% of Americans said they liked their insurance coverage, whether it was provided by their employer or by the govt."

You continue to play games. 80% of those who HAVE coverage. What about those who DON"T have coverage? You are like Romney who made a campaign pledge that those who HAVE unsurance won't lose it when they change jobs.

In 1986. a Democratic House and a Republican Senate passed and Ronald Reagan signed, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, or EMTALA.

EMTALA, one of the great unfunded mandates in American history, required any hospital participating in Medicare—that is to say, nearly all of them—to provide emergency care to anyone who needs it, including illegal immigrants, regardless of ability to pay. Indeed, EMTALA can be accurately said to have established universal health care in America—with nary a whimper from conservative activists.

Universal Healthcare signed into law by your hero Ronald Reagan. And now you wonder why illegals receive free treament in hospital emergeny rooms.

GF - EMTALA only covers care in Emergency Rooms - not the universal health care you are dreaming of. It is more like mandated Good Samaritan coverage ( for emergent medical problems - trauma, strokes, heart attacks, etc....not chronic care)

Sorry I confused you but I was clear that it was for emergency  ( "to provide emergency care to anyone who needs it").  To  satisfy you, I should have posted Emergency Room Universal Healthcare rather than use a metaphor.

Do you feel that the cuurent group of conservatives in the House would ever pass a "Good Samaritan" law for emergency room care for ALL including illegals?

I think defining emergency care is like someone trying to define assault weapon.

An assault weapon is something that one has used in the assault of another...  It could be a semi-automatic firearm, it could be a pencil, or it could be an ex's cooking.

I meant exactly what I wrote and was very specific. Maybe if moron SOTUS had actually focused on the small percentage of people that did not have insurance but actually wanted it he could have done some good. But no, he had to pursue his socialist wet dream and gave us this train wreck. Now stay on task here GF. It is attain wreck and is imploding under the weight of its own malfeasance and growing unpopularity. Those are the facts jack so just deal with it.

"Maybe if moron SOTUS had actually focused on the small percentage of people that did not have insurance but actually wanted it he could have done some good." Typical nonsensical comment from the right. Easy to say but so difficult to achieve or it would have been done years ago. Bush had 8 years to do it but did not. The right doesn't give a dam about those uninsureds unless they are white and rich.

Now Jack is going to bed so Jill has time to respond.

Very few people cared when Bush was president and even less cared when Obama was elected. They wanted jobs, not a job destroying socialist wet dream called Obamacare. Go back and look at the polls and you will see so few Americans wanted comprehensive health care reform it barely made the top 20. But only a left wing nut would thnk it is easier for the govt to try to take over 1/6 of the economy versus trying to address the small percentage that were uninsured and actually wanted insurance. I will tell you this, we would be better off with nothing different than what we currently have to deal with. Only a leftist would think its better for everyone to miserable. But if he needed to do something he should have focused on what was needed instead of the abomination they passed. DWIP....
