How about knowing what you are talking about before you post. Those are syntax errors not spelling errors and won't be caught by spell checkers. Also if you came around more often you might have seen his apology some time back because he, like many of us, use smart phones which have autocorrect that sometimes inserts the wrong word. Maybe then you won't be made fun of.

I would have hoped you were smarter. The definition of syntax is : the pattern or formation of sentences and phrases of words.

This is a lake forum, not an English class.

"the pattern or formation of sentences and phrases of words"

And what do you think having maid instead of made changes, or are instead of our, and plane instead of plain or vice versa whatever the cr@p you posted.  Syntax makes sentences make sense, unlike you.  Having a phone insert nonsensical words in sentences takes away from the syntax, or to quote you, "formation of sentences and  phrases of words".  Go back to school.

And I don't need you to wish for me to be any smarter, thank you. My intelligence is just fine without your wishes.

Many different kinds of errors. Best description would most likely be grammatical errors. As soon as i make my planes, i will fly to jolly old England and ask the King, after all it is his English. Oh, but there is no King!

...and 3 of them are in regards to grammar. Two directed directly at Shay. And on further review it shows that the maid/made and our/are comments are from 4/24/13 and your brilliant response was that you hope the food is better than the grammar.  You must be OCD.  Get a life. And don't pick internet fights with folks that are smarter than you and bored to death.

And BTW grammar police, Patrick is a proper noun and therefore should be capitalized!! Glass houses ya know.

That's quite a few extraordinary responses to a party invitation, but I don't think I read one "thank you"

I guess I need to make sure in the future I don't spell correctly this has really got some response . I'm trying to put together a night that some  of us can get together and have some fun . I'm  sure in the future I will make the same mistake . If you have the time and effort to point out my grammar enjoy !!!!!

Maybe during the social night out we should have a spelling B  I don't stand a chance .

A+ on your recent post Chris.

I think a spelling B combined with cocktails is a great idea.  Seriously.  We can have Gonefishing be the judge as I am sure he must be part of academia.

Spell checker has made most of us very poor at the actual manual task.  I wonder how long it has been since most of us have actually put pen to paper and sent a letter to someone via snail mail...?? We ALL might be surprised how poor our spelling is.

Kind Regards,
Professor Camp

Spellchucker (sic) is both a blessing and a curse! it did not like “spellchucker” and told me so.  But, it doesn’t know the difference between there, they’re, and their… or plain versus plane… or vane versus vain. it will not tell you that you meant “because” when you used “since.”

The completed manuscript of my first book was edited by the publisher.  i hope his editor will pass English 101 when he gets to his freshman year.  The editor sent me unsolicited glowing praise… nice but i wish he had copy edited the book… or, if he did, he should have been sent to look different job.

The second book’s completed manuscript was edited by three of my educated friends in hard copy with red pens before i sent it to my NEW publisher.  i am assuming it went through his editor. BUT, i have found a couple of spelling errors and some double punctuation that slipped through the system. A writer usually cannot edit his or her own work. Even good friends cannot edit his manuscript.

As for the word completion function on my cell phone… a cute little waitress at Niffer’s turned that function off for me.
