What are you going to charge for a dozen on the half shell? The wife and I love them that way. If the price is right, we'll see you Saturday and we'll have more than a dozen.

The Price of Oysters have gone out of site since the Feds maid all boats have refrigeration  on them I keep them as reasonable as I can  $ 16.95 I have  over .70 cents in each oyster  The days of 8 to 10 dollar a dozen oysters I think
are gone ... Hope to see you this weekend

Don't know about the oysters except the best ones come from Apalach/ Texas or the rare Blue Points from up north.

I have a friend that had a shrimp boat years ago and later was a distributor of seafood to high end restaurants in Atlanta.  He got his Gulf shrimp off American boats that were quality operators.

Those sweet Gulf shrimp come off boats that flash freeze the catch as they go. Other countries don't crank up the refrigeration until they have a full catch and are headed in to port. By then the shellfish has been around for a while. Shrimp spoil really fast so I'll take the refrigerated ones anytime....but they cost a lot more. Great restaurants know their suppliers.
