Way I see it, if the Republicons and Demorats keep their horns locked - no blinking, no more borrowing.
The payment on the debt would then be about 10% of the taxes coming in. ( $200 billion/month )
The White House and Treasury secretary Jack Lew then would decide whether to respect the payment of the debt or not. Something will be cut.
Ya think non payment of debt would significantly raise the interest rate above zero on $17 trillion?
George Will said that would lead to world economic locusts, etc etc.
And of course it is Republican conservatives who would be at fault. A perfect political storm.
Do I have a clue? Just now trying to figger this out.

This is not the Republicans fault. They have sent multiple passed budgets to the Senate over the last four years and Harry Reid/Obama refuse to bring them up for a vote because they want a govt shutdown because they think (incorrectly in my estimation) that it will benefit them politically. Hence the need for CR's and yet another example of Democrats "winning" when the American people lose (in this case winning like Charlie Sheen was "winning"). There have been multiple efforts by the GOP to enter into negotiations and both Reid and Obama have steadfastly refused to do so. All to protect the worst law ever passed and one that poll after poll show the American people do not want. Y'all on the left love to lecture about compromise and negotiation until it is your side that refuses to do so......bunch of hypocrites.
You need to get some education because you are clueless......or maybe you get your news from pmsnBS or Jon Stewart........either way you are being shortchanged. Get off the short bus and get educated....sheesh....these drive by posters......

You have to be explicit but when you use the terms "Republicons" and Democrats it sends the message that you have drunk the kool aid......if that was an attempt at satire and you agree with me, my apologies. If you actually believe what you wrote about who is at fault then I restate my point about getting off the short bus and getting a better education.

Conversation is the exchange of information back and forth in a way that the sender and recipient both understand the meaning of what is trying to be conveyed. None of us can figure out what you are trying to say.
Oh and by the way, if you are referring to the WTC towers actually some of the smaller ones around the larger ones were also destroyed. Pretty useless information but maybe you can do a better job making your point and we can respond.

Well ..just answered my question.
Looks like paying debt is required to be paid first by law. (according to my buddies facebook page)
This keeps the Demorats from having an option of defaulting the country.

Since when has the law or the constitution mattered even a little bit to this regime. If he doesn't get his new trillion dollar slush fund, er I mean debt limit increase, there is no doubt in my mind he will declare a default and blame it on Republicans.
