I have 5 pictures of the Gray BMW that sat in my driveway for 5 minutes while his passenger broke into houses on Shady Point. "Dude, You forgot your cigarette butt that you nervously tossed onto my front door step as evidence.  Your Tag number starts with 62B and I will leave the rest to the Alex City Police & Detectives.

everyone tell everybody to be on the look out for a GRAY newer model - 4 door BWW - has a moon roof, mirrored windows and the 62 Tag. Not sure what model but it has 3 digits or Letters in the name.

If you come in contact with one please get the Tag number and any other info and contact me at this email address and YeS if you would like the pictures of the car I will email them to you.

Turned all of the pictures and info over to the police and I'm betting in 72 hours somebody wont get to go home.  You just don't think of a nice car like that burglarizing lake homes but, it happened. They stole high end jewelry (left the cheap stuff) and pain killers. Our neighborhood watch (started 6 weeks ago) and its working.

I will update as soon as more info is available.

This fall I installed a very inexpensive camera system in my house that has a motion detection program that videos when it is triggered.  I can also check on the house using my iPad, smart phone or website at any time.  System is offered by a company called Vuezone and it is wireless although you will need high speed internet for it to work.  The initial two cameras and router cost around $200 on Costco online and the service costs $49 per year for up to five cameras.  You can also buy it on ebay.  We plan to add 3 more cameras to the system to watch our boat storage and to gaze at the water.

I purchased that camera and tried to use it for about a week and had several problems. First of all it is a wireless wifi which is good but needs batteries which can give you problems, I spent two days with their tech support due to the problem they have forwarding you it's motion detection hits. They also send the hits to their server which then sends it to you, after a given amount of time you must pay for that service and extra for add on cameras. The camera also would not send all motion detections. I returned that device a purchased a Belkin Netcam from Best Buy for $99 and so far so good, and the detection will go straight to your smartphone, no charge.

I am not a fan of wireless cameras. I was a security contractor for years and there is more downside to postitive of wireless cameras but, every situation has its application. I called my old supplier and as usual I ask what goes out his door the most but comes back the least. He gave me information on a DVR by PowerTech and I told him (after researching it) to send me one. It will hold 8 cameras, has network connectivity, smart phone access, motion alarms to text etc.
I prewired my house for cameras years ago. I used them for awhile but, just got away from it. Its time to rework the system and get things going again. I plan to have 3 cameras on the street side and 2 on the water side of my house.

If it were not for the $80 deer camera I had out in the yard I never would have solved our neighborhood burglaries.

  Protect yourself...

So far so good for the system. Have not had any motion detects since the house has been empty since I put the cameras in. Hope my experience works better than yours.

just installed a Powertec 8 Camera - 1 terabyte DVR. Its working great. It shows ALERTS when there has been motion and I can go straight to the alerts and watch the video. Got it up and running on my Galaxy Note 2 Droid. Will be installing more cameras as time permits.
