Do you mean gel coat?  I believe Catboat can do that at the Prattville location.

I might can do it for you inside my shop if it is under 15 feet high on the trailer.
See Cole Boatworks ad on this site.

Isn't this boat illegal on Lake Martin?

Not Gel coat. I need someone to lightly sand and paint the bottom with a special bottom paint. I've only found a price from Kowaliga Marine but I was hoping to get another bid.

Really Mack!!!
I'm trying to get a little information and I don't need some smartass remark from someone who doesn't know that some boats were Grandfathered relating to the length restriction law on three specific lakes in Alabama. Get a life Mack if you can't at least offer some help on this site.

Thanks... I travel and will be home this weekend and will give you a call. My first problem is that I don't have a trailer for this boat. Hope you can help out with that.

Did you or your buddy answer the question? No.
If you had answered that the boat was legal, I had 2 very good references for you. Good luck with your business, both of you, and be careful whom you try to offend on this board. Might come back on you later and then I would be LMFAO.

Sorry Mack....This 40 footer has been on Lake Martin for 15 years and after the length law went into effect, I did have to verify to the Marine Police that the boat was berthed here to receive a Grandfather status to allow the boat to remain on this lake without penalty. I pay my $45  LM registration fee to the Marine Police each year. My boat is completely legal to be on Lake Martin. I was under the stupid idea that by satisfying the requirements of the State of Alabama Marine Division that I was in compliance with the law. I did not know that I was supposed to check with you to receive your approval for my boat to be on Lake Martin or to receive any friendly advice without fear of retribution on this website. Like I said...get a life.

It is rather amazing and sad that a simple question about painting a boat bottom ends up with insults. I think that is no different than the polarized country we live in. Maybe, the answer is a thicker skin....

I do have a life, I think. Might be a wee bit less contentious than yours.
But, your suggestion that you check with me in the future to insure that you are playing nice might be a good idea.

As Uncle Milt said, easy now Mack.....you did take the first shot, poked at a sensitive subject, and made incorrect assumptions.  If I had a grandfathered boat, I too would be tired of being poked for what is not only legal but well within my rights as a free American.

McGill, would you come paint my fire hydrant red and white, I'll buy you a six pack.

And ruin a perfectly good color scheme? I think not.

I 'll even up the ante. I 'll give uncle Milt a six pack if he holds the paint buckets..

Yes, I will start texting you the pictures they send me every weekend.  It's like, pictures from a magazine.  They don't care how it tast, just that it is pretty.  You want believe what they send.  They will take a picture of a HAM they cooked, surrounded by grapevines, draped with pasta with Rose bushes in the background, and sometimes white doves sittin' on the edge of the plate.  Really.

I have a homemade gooseneck trailer to haul my 36 Gibson and 32 Surfside houseboats but do not know if it will haul yours. My Gibson had to have the flybridge removed to haul. Give me a call @ 334-318-1986.

Those were not Rose bushes. The only blooming bushes in the yard were the minature azaleas!

Only thing admitted so far is that you can't cook. Ask DeeDee whose ham is better.

For a guy asking for help with a boat problem you are a wee bit sensitive. There are all kinds of personalities on this board and if you go nuclear easily (forgive me GF- I know that subject is painful) it won't help.
