Parts of our lawn are being dug up by a small critter - digs under the roots and turns the roots upside down - now they won't grow. Any idea of what is doing this and how we can control it?

I remedied that problem by waking @ 2AM , throwing a beam from a strong flashlite, and discharging a couple rounds of 22 longs. Dillos-GONE-

They eat grubs. Kill the grubs and they will leave.

Correct - I believe. If so what you need is Bacillus Thuringiensis. Commonly called BT. Milky Spore is similar but a different bacteria I think. Your county agent can clear this up. Anyway the bacteria will set up in the soil and make the grubs sick. And you will have less problems with the summer caterpillars eating up your stuff. And it's an organic control, harmless to you and your pets. Of course it could just be squirrels finding a nice hiding place for their nuts but you would see them in the daytime.

We need more info on the BT. Where do you buy it? etc? Floyd's? Killed an armadillo last night. Haven't had much of a problem with them this year because the rain made grubs plentiful in the forest, but "they're back". BTW, killed 15 in '08 with the drought.

I'm really rusty on this but the BT kills one class of grubs and the Milky Spore gets the larva that turn into Japanese Beetles.

I would bet on it being an armadillo . As for control a 22 rifle or a live trap bated with old fruit then the 22.
