“When soldiers surrounded Josh Hargis’s hospital bed to pin the Purple Heart to his blanket, they assumed he was unconscious… but, he raised his hand in salute. Although Josh Hargis has made considerable progress, [he and his wife] are about to embark on tough times financially with a new baby and prosthetic expenses to worry about.” [ABC News, 19FEB14]

WHAT?

Why is this severely wounded and handicapped veteran NOT on 100% disability and full medical care? Here is where we have irrefutable evidence that American priorities, morals, and awareness are failing. Someone at DoD needs to explain this before Congress and to the American people.

They are probably forcing him onto Obamacare so he has good reason to worry......seriously, he has to be eligible for 100% disability with all his medical bills paid and some form of ongoing income.  There is no way he is not eligible while millions of able bodied slugs live off the dole.  That would be impossible to believe.......we can't be that screwed up.

My guess is the author of the article specializes in McNews and had no clue as to the soldiers current situation.  He is probably still on active duty, at least until he finishes re-hab.  If so his baby would be covered by mil.  If he is on VA disability, his wife would not be covered.  Either way, the fund raising effort is very timely.  I don't put much in news media accuracy.

I looked at health care.  The drugs I absolutely need are not covered.  I'd have to pay 100% out of pocket for them.

Under VA, I am covered. 

I take Orencia monthly for my RA.  None of the biologicals are convered under ObamaDon'tGiveADamn about you non-care. Without them, RA patients would be on steroids which do not stop the continuing damage to your joints and organs. Outcome is not nice.
