We didn't get to go to this last year -- is it worth possible capsize of our boat to motor over there -- or is it better to take the car? Anyone who has been --   give us your honest opinion on this event-- crowd and actual art available for sale.

I have been a few times and enjoyed it.  I have always found something that I liked well enough to spend a few bucks.  Very eclectic collection of artist usaully, from painters, photgraphers, arts and crafts, and others.  I got there late one year right after a storm had rolled through and really cut the crowd down, but unfortunately some of the artists had packed it in too.  There is usually some live music and of course all the usual fare available at Chucks with abnormally long wait times.  My advice, as always, is to call ahead a couple of hours and place your order, that way you may only have to wait an hour or so when you get there, but the beer is cold and the site seeing is as good as anyhwere.

As for boat vs. car, that is hard to say. there will be tons of boats there as well as the usual traffic from the rock to the mouth of Blue Creek and you may have to stand off a while to actually get a spot to dock, and then fight idiots that cruise up and try to take open spots before those that have been waiting.  By car you wil most likely have to park a fair distance form the marina but the VFD always has transport up and down the road.  It also generates income for the VFD which I like as opposed to my VFD that goes door to door begging and has had little control over who does the begging in the past.  I was duped by a crack head when I first moved here and have rufsed to give to door knockers ever since.  All VFD's should be as industriuos and sponsor simular events and do less begging IMHO.

Glad to help.  Unfortunately I didn't get to go this year.  I was elbow deep in mower problems yesterday for over 6 hours but thanks to Adam Moore at Moore's Hardware in Dadeville I am on the right track now and just waiting on a gasket set he had to order.  I know CAT BOAT once infamously fixed a tiller, and even gave me cogent advice on my mower, but if it is small engine related Adam is the man to talk with.  This is not the first time he has set me on the right course informing me of what my real problem was instead of what I thought it was and got me the right parts to do the job.

So take the big engines to CAT and the little ones to Adam and I don't know about Adam, but I hear all the time, CAT CAN'T COOK.

And BTW-- just curious, did you go by boat or car?

Actually we did not go -- it was our daughter and some friends -- and they went by car.  I think they would have been intimidated had they tried to take the boat. They enjoyed it.
