Have to wonder how the kid was able to bring all this to school. 

The gunman who shot and killed a student Tuesday at an Oregon high school has been identified as a 15-year-old freshman at the school, police said. The shooter, Jared Michael Padgett, rode the school bus to Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Ore., on Tuesday morning, police said. He went into a locker room and shot and killed Emilio Hoffman, 14, a freshman at the school, according to authorities.

 The shooter was carrying an AR-15 rifle, a semiautomatic handgun, a large knife and nine loaded magazines capable of holding hundreds of bullets, Anderson said. In addition, he was wearing a vest used to carry ammunition and other items, as well as a helmet with a camouflage design.

The guns that Padgett was carrying were all taken from his family’s home, Anderson said. “The weapons had been secured, but he defeated the security measures,” Anderson said. Anderson did not disclose any possible motivation for the shooting.

But GF, this isn't once a week.  Just look at Chicago where kids are killing each by the droves every day in gang related violence.  For some reason black kids killing black kids is not news but some obviously disturbed white kid in Oregon going into a school and shooting someone is national news.  Why doesn't the media care about the carnage in Chicago, Detroit, Miami, LA, DC, etc.?  Why the focus on isolated school shootings?  

I know the answer to that but am curious if you have one.  Makes you wonder what is happening to our society that kids so easily turn to violence.  It's the culture that we need to be concerned about......and the media is not doing their job in favor of their ideology.

This is the plot that sells movies - - that begets more twisted plots. Just suppose that Hollywood stopped lionizing these twisted twerps. Just suppose that the media (including FOX) quick giving them status. 

Just suppose that parents - two per family - cared about their child(ren). Just suppose that children were raised in TRUE religious faith. Just suppose that adults set a good example for children. 

Ahhh! Now I remember: “Separation of Church and State” (not as defined by Thomas Jefferson - but, as refined by Liberals).

Thanks for telling me.  I didn't mean to insult the major. I honestly thought that was the LMF and it was aimed at all the liberals that suck eggs.  They really need to quit that because someday they will get a rotten one.  Oops, they have a rotten one at the moment in totus.

aarrrggghhh - - I got up too early this morning. without my glasses still managed the coffee on button. in bare feet, shuffled to the end of the drive for the newspaper. can’t find glasses. did find coffee mug. forgot newspaper. turned on computer. found glasses and was thus able to administer password before four tries. went to the LFM and - - for warm ups - - read the usual, wildly vacillating reviews of the Anchor Bay restaurant. THEN, went to the OT Forum and read for the first time that someone mistook me for a liberal. to hell with coffee - - must have awakened on the wrong planet - - going back to bed.
