I got a notice in the mail from charter yesterday stating that I have to start paying an additional $7 per month for each TV in my home. Did anyone else get the same thing?

Charter is going all digital.  All tvs will have to have a settop box.  You can get one box free for 12 months.

The letter I got offered two STBs free for 24 months.  Here in Montgomery they only offered one free for 12 months.

Wont work for us at the lake because we are in a hollow of sorts, but two of our home TVs now sport indoor antannas.  I am angry at Charter but in spite of their money grab, they are our best option and it gals me every time I think about it.

Iternet has been my main reason for not trying one of the satellite-based services, plus we don't have a stellar look (pun intended) at the southern sky from our place.

I woudl like to bring a Charter Corporate Executive to Alexander City to speak with 5-20 customers that have the same issues which everyone else is currently having. If we can get 1000 names on a petition I think this project will have the teeth to stick. If you want change I suggest going to the website and signing the petition. BTW: I do not have a Charter account so, I dont have a dog in the fight. I am simply trying to help those who need a voice.

All I see is a blank page when I go to that site.

I know that over the years charter sends a rep out whenever the Alexander City council has threatened to do something about the soaring prices. They smile and shake hands with the council, and then the issue is dropped until the next council comes along. I assume the squeaky wheel is getting some of the green lubricant if you know what I mean. Maybe someday we will see a council with integrity, but I won't hold my breath.

Beekeeper....I doubt that you will hear from this jerk (Cat Herder). He's like most people that complain and throw mud at elected officials. They never stand up or get involved when asked to do so. My wife was an elected official and when she would invite people like Cat Herder to a one on one meeting or a commission meeting as her guest, they would not show up. All mouth and no action....

I understand. I tried sending him a message from his post but, it would just show a blank screen each time. After loosing the message it took quite a while to type 3 different times I finally saved a copy and would like to share it with him. I dont spend alot of time on here so, not sure of everyones objectives. I just want to be informative when possible, specially about the bees...

   Thanks

You are right, I do not get involved at all because of people like you. I have no idea what I did to deserve your wrath. I have never even exchanged words with you on this forum before to my knowledge.

That's why I do it anonymous. It's too dangerous to give your honest opinion with angry people like this guy around.

I would definately sign the petition.  We have had Charter at the lake since 2005 and the rates stayed about the same through 2010 and have steadily increased since then.  They removed quite a few channels from our Basic TV service in November 2013, including the Weather Channel.  They completely failed to show up for a service call in April during the 10 AM to Noon window they promsed and finally called at 1:30 PM.  I had a meeting in Auburn and had to go.  They have still not been out to take care of the service call.  So, I dropped the TV service and am only keeping Charter Internet.  Let me know how to sign the petition.
